After 5 1/2 long months I graduated AIT on December 2nd (with an 89.59 avg and JUST missed getting Honor Grad :banghead: ) and I'm heading to Ft. Hood.

So now I'm officially a 25B - IT Specialist.

Just thought some of you might want to know.

It's good to hear from you, buddy...

What's up, buddy? How you liking it?

I hated AIT. It was just complete BS the whole dang time. I'd rather have had an 8 month long Basic Training. At least then I'd be in shape. I gained 10 lbs (not muscle) during AIT.

My Senior Platoon Sgt is a ****bag. Don't know how that loser ever got E-7.

Whats up Rack? Keep up the good work man.

If you ever lose your motivation just think about how I used to own you on the Newman vs Suggs debates. :D

Take care of yourself

They both turned out to be pretty good players. Wouldn't mind having Suggs opposite Ware to go along with Newman in the secondary though. :D

Where's a good, safe place I can rent a house near Ft. Hood that will allow me to keep 4 dogs? :D

Well you are going to a FORSCOM unit in Ft. Hood and I am more than sure they are going to PT the **** out of you when you get there. I had completed Nursing school in El Paso and then headed to Ft. Campbell. You will get in better shape over time. Just don't get frustrated if you can't keep up with some of the other soldiers in your unit. Remember that they have been doing Road Marches, 10 mile runs, and harder PT for about 2-3 years.

As for your platoon Sgt, was he a student at your AIT or was he an instructor?

I will find out and I can tell you right now stay away from the Pepper tree apartments in long branch park.

You may want to look at renting a house they have built a lot of nice subdivison off Stan Slutter loop that is off Hwy190 the main drag not far from the mall

Congrats Rack. I'd wondered where you'd been cause I either didn't know you'd joined the military or I completely forgot about it. I just knew I hadn't seen you posting in a long while.

Thanks for the service to our country. You're a hero already just for stepping up.

The Platoon Sgt is just a platoon Sgt, there to baby sit the soldiers. The squad leaders are the ones that are also instructors.

Civilian Life > Military Life

But to be fair, I've only experienced the TRADOC side of Military life.

Congrats, now do what you can to get an Overseas tour such as Germany (my first duty station), Italy (go Airborn to help with this), or any other place you can. The Military can be fun if you get as much out of it as you put into it, ie. do your job stay out of troubel and try to get as much travel in as possible.

Welcome to the bigest family in the US, you may fight with some of your own but they will have your back when you need it.

Hey man if you ever need a super weapon in battle you need to break out the CATCH17 bat.

That thing is like Excalibur.

So Rack why was your platoon sergeant a ****** bag? Was he sleeping around with some of the soldiers and giving them preferential treatment. I had a platoon sergeant when I was in the forward surgical team and he was sleeping with the female platoon sergeant from evac platoon. We ended up pulling double duty and I almost beat the **** out of him in frustration. The funny thing was that everyone else hated him, but no one ever did anything about it.
