So Danny White did us all a huge favor emailing the guest information the other day and they said cameras with lenses were allowed.

Now on the main page at dallas Cowboys.com it says only pocket sized digital cameras are allowed no, pro cameras...

this is the most confusing thing ever.

  • The following tips are also helpful for fans attending the game on Sunday:
  • For your best route to Cowboys Stadium, visit www.dallascowboysmaps.com. Enter your zip code and your pre-paid parking lot number or select cash parking for directions.
  • Know that an "obvious" route may not be the fastest route.
  • Pay attention to digital signage that may mark new roads.
  • Do not use traditional mapping services or automobile GPS. They do not have the latest information.
  • Carpool if possible.
  • Know that your departure route may differ from traditional exits from the Arlington entertainment district.
  • Your ticket provides a specific gate entrance. This entry gate is assigned based on seat location to make it easy to find your seat once you are in the building. Not all tickets will be accepted at every entrance.
  • The stadium doors and roof will be open so dress appropriately. Currently, the weather forecast for Sunday is partly cloudy, high of 88?.
  • Prohibited Items - The following items will not be allowed into the stadium:
    • o Large bags, backpacks or carry bags. Women's purses are allowed but contents will be inspected.
o Food, drinks or beverages of any kind (including bottled water)
o Video or audio recording devices of any kind
o Professional cameras. Only small, pocket-sized personal cameras will be allowed.
  • Now I am more conflicted than before. ANyone else going to bring their camera anyway.

I have no idea if Danny White is trying to skirt the security issue or not, but perhaps his guests will get in with their pro cameras if he escorts them into the facility. I agree that his info and the stadium info are contradictory.

Theogt said some were turned away during the preseason and some were not.

I just dont want to have to walk back to the lot! I will be there early with nothing to do anyway but I was hoping to avoid that scenario.

This issue needs to be addressed with examples from the team asap though. Simply make a video announcement on the website with examples.....

I can not see the harm in a 55 mm lens or a 200mm lens personally though.

I would guess that the average person on the gate won't know the difference between a pro and a prosumer camera and wouldn't bring one of the later class to the game. I would just bet that the average person at the gate is going to bounce the DSLR cameras.

Can you link me to this? I'm on the road (not driving) and can't find it on my iPhone.

They won't check your pockets, so you shouldn't have a problem.

Qwest field in Seattle has the same type of camera rules, but I have been known to get my 70-200 VR lens in  just find the week inspection line

I took my digitial SLR to a preseason game and wasn't allowed in with it. The
guaer supervisor told me that no cameras with changeable lens will be allowed in.

Dad got in with his D-50 for the Tennesee game. He has just the junky 135mm kit lens on it though. I'd bet they wouldn't allow anything like an f4 200mm or larger though.

They act as if a 200mm lens is going to capture superior upclose footage. That's true if you're on the field and within like 20 yards of the person, these rules are idiotic.

Now If I walked in with a 400mm f/2.8 lens, then I can see them turning me away.

Has anyone had any problems bringing in a camera with a lens in the past few games?

Enforcing the no video camera rule would be a hassle.

There's not a lot they could do really. Too many cameras now fit into a pocket.
