Taco Charlton was not drafted on athletic traits. His actual composite athletic testing metrics (ie. not his physical measurements) were mediocre at best:

Yea he was basically the opposite of what I’m talking about. Good tape but not plus athlete.

strange I thought that was the excuse the boys gave taking him over Watt?
Because I never saw all that much as regards Game Tape that impressed me on him

Gil Brandt said they did not draft Mike Singletary because he was one half INCH under their minimum height requirements for a LB
that is where your fixation on numbers will lead you
Cool…I’ve said nothing about height / weight.

This also isn’t a me thing having a fixation…it’s me pointing out the actual evidence that there is a correlation between athleticism and success in the NFL at certain position. This is a fact not my opinion or fixation.

Scheme fit gets you Taco Charleton over T.J.Watt.
Well not always but probably most of the time. whenever you make one thing an over riding factor, it will cost you.
Game tape of someone from say Division 3 has to be taken with a grain of salt

As what could have been: Tj Watt is now 22nd all time in sacks leaders and tied for 20th all time Forced Fumbles

What I remember reported was that Maranelli's (not saying he made the call) input was that he would much rather have a DE with prototype size (i.e., Taco Charlton) rather than a project (i.e., TJ Watt) that doesn't fit the ideal mold.

facts are always subjective dude just like statistics
Apparently when you refuse to acknowledge you’re wrong. Do you man…ignore the facts and data that is easily accessible bc it doesn’t support your narrative.

Your claim is that its more important to be an athlete then a player. That is an opinion.
As regards those stats you claim, they prove nothing. Just as many players that have better tape make it as those that have better measurements. AND when you look at the all time greats, the majority of them are not great athletes.

Ive reiterated a multiple times that’s not what I’m saying…I’ve stated there is a direct correlation between certain combine metrics and NFL success at certain positions.

Ex - if you look at the top 10 CBs in football a very high percentage of them ran a sub 4.5 40.

Yes, they still need to be good players but the metrics stuff I’m referencing isn’t even debatable.

Annoyed is far from a strong enough word.
It’s not even the TE position for me. Well, it mostly is.

If they for some reason traded down to pick 32 and picked Tyler Warren, I would question it but I’d still be ok with it because he is going to be an awesome TE.

Loveland? I don’t think he’s the best, or even 2nd best, TE in this class.

Blinking lights 3 Georgia Dawg defenders on this board right around the time the Cowboys pick would upgrade the defense immediately.

EDGE / LB Walker , Williams or safety Starks .
Eagles with back up QB’s posted 41 .
