ESPN has us 9th but I'm not sure if it's 100% accurate.

Really doesn't matter. Trading down from say, 12 to 20 can net you some serious picks. It's an interesting draft, I doubt any of the guys we'd really like will be there - Peterson, Amukamara, Fairley, Bowers, Dareus, etc.

I just don't think we're good enough to take BPA, and ideally I'm hoping we leave the first day with a CB, DE, S, and OL.

If we beat Arizona, then that pretty much kills any chance of a top 10 pick.

Just saying.

how many seventh round drafts picks can we get for the number ninth overall pick, because Jerry will be trading down for more picks, you can almost guarantee it..

Just give me the best safety prospect out there. If we are too high, then trade down, but we MUST get the best safety available.

The first day is the first round only. We won't have four picks in the first round.

Too early to say that. As a matter of fact, it's highly doubtful that trading down gets the picks they used to give out. IT depends on the team who wants to trade up and the player(s) that are available. For example, the Jets gave up next to nothing ( a 2nd round pick and 3 players:Kenyon Coleman, Abram Elam and Brett Ratliff. ) to move up from #17 to #5 for Mark Sanches, who was one of the top QBs in that particular draft. The Chargers gave up a 2nd rounder to move up from like #27 to #12 ( Dullphins ) this past year. A couple of years ago, the Jaguars traded from a similar spot ( 26th pick) with the Ravens who were picking #8 and all the Jags gave up were two 3rd-round picks and a 4th-round pick.

It does seem like the trade value for trading down from a high pick has fallen in recent years. Teams seem much more gun-shy about giving up future firsts, which used to be standard trade up material. I kind of just hope they stay where they're at try to add a defensive back or offensive lineman, though I'm not sure that the prospects are there for those needs.

My bad, just used to using that expression for the first four rounds.

Before long they'll only do the top 10 picks on the first day. Generate those ratings Roger.

Nick Fairley, DE/DT Auburn at #9 overall.

I'd be thrilled.

Bowers, Peterson, Dareus, and Fairley are the 3 guys that I think are going to make an immediate impact on the league - but I think all of them will be gone by the time we pick. Maybe even before the 5th pick, depends on how the quarterbacks look. And A.J. Green is a baller too but we're set at receiver.
