Carrington is a lot like the players we brought in last year. He just happens to be a free agent during this period and not someone who was cut, so I guess that is why he seems so much more attractive.

His production as pro is about where Jarius Wynn's was.

His production was where Jason Hatcher's was at his age, and like JH playing mainly DE....fittingly he is almost identical to Hatcher size/weight/athletically. His upside is greater than most left available. If they can't get Melton I would be all over him and try to move him to the "3 tech" and emulate Hatch's success.

Hatcher at this point was doing a little more or at least figured into the team's plans a little more due to the organizational feelings about him.

I do not think Carrington has much interest from the new regime in Buffalo, third round pick or not. They are not exactly rolling in tackle depth either.

The best thing he did was contribute on special teams blocking kicks in 2012. It is a dice roll, one that I would not bother with.

Bills offered him a contract.
I'm not saying he's surefire to produce like Hatcher, but he has that potential if he plays inside and is only 26. Aside from Melton there isn't another FA available who is capable of coming close to Hatch's production. Again, the guy might amount to nothing but a rotational player which is what he'll be paid like, but I think he has the ability to flourish in Maranelli's scheme.

Did not see where the Bills did that, but I will take your word for it. When I see he has visited Pittsburgh and left without an offer, it tells me his not really as cheap and economical (or as healthy) as thought as they are in the same boat we are with the cap.
