I'd rather have four of the five guys you have after him at that spot.

Me too. I think it's a bit of a reach at that spot for him.

I still say choosing Iupati for the Steelers at 18 is nonsense. This is neither 2002 nor Cowher's Steelers.

Although we can use a safety, it's never a good idea to grab a lower-rated player when much higher players are available. Williams and Bryant are expected to go much earlier in the round; McCourty and Odrick around our pick, while from what I've seen, Allen is a second-rounder.

scouts inc has him at the 37th rated player in the draft. its really not a reach. whos to say sensabaugh signs on time? he wants a deal. and only a 2nd round tender? he doesnt do anything that hamlin cant do.

I can't see Jerry passing on the very marketable Dez Bryant if he's there at 27.

Oh by the way, he's a heck of a football player too.

No other player would have the potentially immediate impact that Bryant would give us.

He's Michael Irvin Part Two. The Good and The Bad.

bryant would have a hard time even replacing ogletree in the lineup. it wont happen

If the Cowboys have him 37th or around that spot as many "experts" do, then it's a reach. You draft the players that fall to you, not the ones you have to take 10 spots earlier than their value.

If you really want Allen and he's rated 37th on your board, then you trade down into the 30s to get him.

lol u people crack me up. draft guys who will be buried on the bench by players superior to them.

dez bryant, will have a hard time getting on the field. he wont start. crayton makes the touch catches, and ogletree is the other half of the future with austin. IMO the only reason he isnt the #2 is because roy is on the team.

Tackle, lets be realistic none of these guys at tackle that dallas would have a chance to draft will beat out free. people like to talk about that vikings game, that was his first run in real game situations playing LT. he was lights out on the right side.

DT when is this DT supposed to play? ratliff isnt coming offf the field. certainly dallas has its trust in bowen who was dallas other DT in 4 man lines. they just gave him 1.75 mil.

dallas drafts one of these posistions in round 1 by the end of the year all of you will be crying about how the pick was wasted on a guy who cant get on the field. and how jerry is ruinng the team, blah blah blah.

Dez Bryant not seeing action?? LOL your A JOKE!! Dez would provide us everything that R. Williams can't do...Dez has hands like Larry Fitz and isnt afraid to go over the middle!

So you would prefer to overdraft a player who might not be as good as the others available just because he fills a position fans believe is a need?

You don't use the draft to reach for needs. That's how you make major mistakes. If Allen is rated 37 by Dallas (not saying he is, just if he is), then there's a reason for that and you don't take him with the 27th pick when higher-rated players are available.

That's just simply a dumb and dangerous way to draft.

If Dallas has Allen rated 27th on its board, then take him at 27th. If he's lower than the pick, then don't use it on him. The Cowboys have got to trust their board. Trade down if you must to get him, but don't overdraft him.
