3:48 p.m. – Starting safety Jayron Kearse was still in COVID protocol as the Cowboys got back to practice Wednesday, though the club is optimistic Kearse will be cleared to return by Thursday, Cowboys owner/GM Jerry Jones told 105.3 The Fan earlier this week.

Kearse's versatility and ability to cover tight ends has been important to the defense's success this season, and the Cowboys draw another tough tight end matchup this Sunday against 49ers Pro Bowler George Kittle.

Rookie cornerback Nahshon Wright (not injury related) was the only player on the current Cowboys active roster who did not participate in Wednesday's practice.

I agree and for me he was the biggest surprise this season. I really did not care for picking him up in FA. I saw little there to be excited about. I was wrong, he has been a big time help to this team and know how important he is for this team in post season

I’m totally with you on this. I expected him to be a final cut, but I was wrong as well. Instead, he’s become a key piece and defensive leader.

Even if Kearse is cleared to play, I guess, us fans won't know how he is physically until the game starts. But, hopefully #27 won't feel sluggish and is his normal self on the field. If not, I prefer Hooker over Wilson guarding Kittle. Man, I hope Kearse is right.

Kearse and D. Wilson needs to be head hunting come Sunday. I want D. Wilson to put a big hit on one of the RBs like he did vs Dalvin Cook early in the game to set a tone.
Big nasty hit to tell the Whiners "Not Today. Not in our house!"

Kearse needs to play.
Kazee needs to sit.

Actually Kazee hasn't been playing much lately, IIRC. Wilson has been taking over for him most of the game.
