Upgrade: offensive guard vs defensive tackle

"These grades indicate that Smith struggled in both pass-rushing and run defense throughout the season."

Thank God we have A I. to make such brilliant observations I never would have realized.

AI, yes. I doubt they know how to use that.

They probably use the free perplexity search but dont k ow how to create an account. So they have only two free questions. Would explain a lot.

Maybe they switch Laptops to circumvent cookies. Clever as they are.

I like Booker and think he will be good but I though Brock Hoffman came and played pretty well. Heck once Martin went down our offensive line actually looked decent providing Rico some room in the running game and in pass protection. I thought tackles (Steele and Guyton) were the big issues on the oline.

Outlook

Given his late-season improvement, Smith has the potential to develop into a more consistent contributor on the Cowboys' defensive line. Continued focus on technique refinement and adaptation to the professional level will be crucial for his progression in the upcoming seasons.

RG for sure wasnt a big need like some here want to put it. Hoffman would have been a good solution.

Looking at our other glaring needs this pick to me is a desaster.

We did do nothing for our run defense. We lost DFlaw who was a decent run stopper. We lack at least 2 1 tech DTs badly. I cant understand how you can even have still hopes for Mazi. The guy is a bust. It was clear if not from the start then in his second season.

What did we do: drafted a pure pass rusher who will see the field purely on third and long. Which i doubt we will see a lot this season.

Then we got a cb who will be on pup and a lb who is slow as molasse.

But we spent a premium 12th (!) overall on a guard who has movement issues.

We wont know anything until the new schemes and coaches implement stuff.

This is the talking phase, we dont even know what coaches know their jobs.

Doesnt matter the part if the car doesnt operate correctly. No one star or steak can turn a unit around on this dysfunctional team.

We still have JJ, so, lets not get to excited.

The best way to attack this would have been to acquire a QUALITY fa at one of the positions then use a high pick on the other, but I digress.
