A flood of talent is coming and some will get washed away.

Dallas has ten draft picks coming in a few months. One might also expect that the team will dip into free agency for two or three players. Maybe four. What's more, Dallas has also typically done well in finding undrafted college free agents, so we might see another meaningful player there. Or two.

That could easily mean 14-16 targeted new players on the roster vying for roster spots. Let's suppose 12 of the new players push their way onto the roster as gotta-have-em players. We also might want a roster spot for Rico.

Here are the Cowboys free agents:
1 Byron Bell
2 Jonathan Cooper
3 Alfred Morris
4 Kyle Wilber
5 DeMarcus Lawrence
6 L.P. Ladouceur
7 Brice Butler
8 Joe Looney
9 Bene Benwikere
10 Anthony Hitchens

There are ten free agents on the list and I think it's safe to say Dallas will only re-sign 3-5 of them. Lawrence will be signed one way or another for sure. Ladouceur has one role and might do it til age 50. Hitchens will certainly be a target the team would like to retain. Cooper might get brought back.

So for discussion let's say we lose 6 of our own free agents. Bell, Morris, Wilber, Looney, Benwikere were JAGs anyway, IMO. Easy to upgrade there.

But Wow. Dallas certainly will be gaining more quality players than they are losing. There is going to be serious roster competition this summer with very tough cut-day decisions. There will be some goodbyes that are difficult but don't totally surprise us--but some that might shock us.

What veterans will suddenly be playing for their roster lives? Who will be the biggest surprise goodbye?

Could be more then FA leave;
Chaz Green third year I'm calling a bust

Chaz would be one of the guys I could definitely see threatened for a roster spot. Scandrick could be a guy they might look to trade--esp. if they want Jones to play more corner.

If we have a good surplus--and good health there might be a possibility to trade a player for future a pick or a position of need.

I’m calling him the most shameful and obvious example of the poor coaching we have on this team.
They changed OL coaches, so We'll see if it was coaching or lack of talent, if it's the latter, then it's on the FO for drafting Him and not admitting their mistake and moving on.

who would that poor coaching be

All of our offensive coaches. He was fine last year as a swing tackle. Then they wanted him to play guard despite literally everyone saying he couldn’t play guard. Then they kept trying him. After it didn’t work, they were like “Hey Chaz, go back out there and start at LT- oh, and we won’t give you any help!”

And then after the game they straight threw the kid under the bus.

If your talkin about the Atlanta game Chaz should have been called out for the gutless display he up on.
Partly I'll agree, Pollard was a problem as the Oline coach.
The thing I have to say is this Oline wasn't complete and the back-ups were poor talent and poorly coached.
Anderson I am hoping will bring good instruction and teaching methods. We'll see soon enough.

Yep, I'm hoping we have a repeat of the 1975 draft and get another "Dirty Dozen".

POLLACK was here during 2016 running things when the Oline was dominating. This blaming him thing frankly does not work. Green mentally collapsed and sorry guys that is ON HIM.

I rethought my comment and I think your right Tyron Smith misse three games in 16 and we keep truckin. my bad. However we did have Leary and thats something

Absolutely. It's not liked he was a guard and they just threw him out there at tackle. He was a tackle first and this attitude that coaching screwed him up by moving him to guard is, IMO, crap. He should've been able to step in after a week's practice and perform as well as he did before.

I know who I'd like to say good bye to.

As simple as it seems, we likely resign Wilber.

Plays defensive line and linebacker. Also, an anchor to our special teams unit.

i think a flood of talent is over stating. lets say "we hope we get some talent and we can bring out some talent in some players we will be keeping"

im more interested in what teh new coaches are going to bring to the team. Right now im not worried about the players until they prove they arent as good as people screamed they were.

I think 8 in the first 5 rounds. All those guys make the 53. I don't see us exposing a 5th round pick in the PS.

It's going to be ultra-competitive. We could easily see a one of the first 8 picks not make the roster.
