He'll only be as good as his coordinators i'm affraid and he will not stick around very long either which may or may not be a bad thing.

If he's Pete Carroll then I have no problem sticking with him.

If I'm Urban and I get that call there are going to be specific rules agreed upon up front. I've got too strong a resume' to be subjected to Jerry and Stephen's football decisions. If they ignore those rules then there's going to be a huge buyout in the contract.

Otherwise, they can keep the job. Urban will have other opportunities if he wants them.

Meyer has won and won big everywhere he's coached, I'm all for hiring him. He will bring with him top notch coaching, that's for sure, and won't have to worry about rules violations like college.

Lincoln Riley should also be considered.

Urban seems to rely heavily on QB option plays (risky in the NFL) and just out-running defenses to the edge on screens and sweeps with superior athletes (tough to do at the pro level). College concepts are translating easier and easier to the NFL, but I don't know if Urban's offense is one that really would. The Mike Leach system (horizontal spread with tons of picks) seems to be translating really well though.

That's the thing about the PArcells hire though. That hire is why he's not willing to go that route again. Worked out terrible in his eyes though I Do think it changed the culture around here.
