My favorite golfer Phil Mickelson is in the hunt, but I think Dustin Johnson is going to win this event. I really like the way the Japanese youngster Ryo Ishikawa was playing. To be that poised at 18 was so cool.

I can't even begin to tell you how thrilled I am that Tom Watson, pure class, made the cut at 60.

I hope Tiger makes a run at it to add tot he excitement. I will be pulling for Lefty, but I like Johnson's game on this course.

PS I love the 7th hole at Pebble Beach. It is one of my 3 favorite holes in all of golf. I would love to play Pebble Beach before I take a dirt nap.

It is a public course, so anyone can play it. I just haven't been there, with clubs and cash to do so.

I love the traditions of golf, the honesty, the extreme skill it takes to play the game, the History, the beauty of the greatest courses. I love the legends of the game like Arnie, the Bear, Tiger, Tom Watson, and I got to play a round with 2 of the games greatest legends when I was a kid. I love hitting a great golf shot and putting the ball within birdie distance from the hole. I like hitting out of the sand. I like being on beautiful grass and just ripping a big drive. I love the concentration the game takes and how it keeps you humble. It is a game that unless you enjoy playing it, you will not understand.

I should point out that I only watch the 4 Majors, but I follow the results all year long. It is just a great game.

For the record, I have zero interest in golf (unless it's late Sunday at Augusta), hockey, basketball, or NASCAR. Football and baseball is enough on my plate.

I have never yet met a golf fan who is all offended if you say "golf sucks." Most I have known will still offer to buy you a refreshment at the 19th Hole.

Not true of soccer fans. You tell them that "soccer sucks" and you might have a mortal enemy for life. They are arrogant and crude. I don't care how many billions of people love their sport. The rest of us don't. Get over it already. I don't care how fit their athletes allegedly are. I don't care about any of their reasons for why they think the sport is great.

Uh this is definitely not true. I made the comment that golfers are not athletes(which is still true) on this board a while back and a lot of people got upset and went off. I forgot the thread title but to say golf fans don't get offended is incorrect.

I play golf, played soccer, [it's really football ], played cricket and played rugby. Where do I fit? Am I arrogant and crude or am 1 standing at the 19th Hole?

IMO Pebble Beach is the finest golf course in the US on the PGA tour. A real test of golfing skill.
