Pebble Beach kicked some butt this week. Congratulations to McDowell as the US Open winner otherwise known as last man standing. :D

I play golf, played soccer, [it's really football ;) ], played cricket and played rugby. Where do I fit? Am I arrogant and crude or am 1 standing at the 19th Hole?

IMO Pebble Beach is the finest golf course in the US on the PGA tour. A real test of golfing skill.
Have you ever not allowed someone to hate soccer?

Nightmare start for Johnson, but McDowell is lookng solid at the moment.

Hope he can keep it going through the back nine.

Well done that man, now we over here can stop hearing how Tony Jacklin was the last brit to win the US Open.

Now all we need to do is win the World Cup & we can stop hearing about 1966 as well :D.

PS Hos, I don't mind if you hate football/soccer perhaps that's because I play golf too :D

Too be honest I could care less whether anyone likes soccer or not and I'll still be at the 19th Hole waiting to buy someone a drink whether alcoholic or not.

Hmmmm....I'm not sure you can count McDowell as a Brit. Anyway he played really well on a tough course against great opposition. Congrats to him.

Win the World Cup???? Are you kidding me???? Not a chance.

Being from Northern Ireland makes him a Brit in my book.
If he were an Olympian he would be in the British team

As for the World Cup, I'm afraid to say I think you're right.

It is indeed, but they are one team. As they used to be in the Ryder Cup.

Thanks. So NI are separate from GB.

Ireland forms a part of the British Isles

However whereas the Republic of Ireland is entirely separate, Northern Ireland is a part of the UK.

Rightly or wrongly that's why I always think of the Northern Irish to be British, whereas those from the Republic are not.

My favorite golfer Phil Mickelson is in the hunt, but I think Dustin Johnson is going to win this event. I really like the way the Japanese youngster Ryo Ishikawa was playing. To be that poised at 18 was so cool.

I can't even begin to tell you how thrilled I am that Tom Watson, pure class, made the cut at 60.

I hope Tiger makes a run at it to add tot he excitement. I will be pulling for Lefty, but I like Johnson's game on this course.

You will watch golf on tv but hate soccer?
