i know there are fans who still care for the growing popularity of soccer in America. anyways, heres my first posting on this thread. check out the renovation plans for our current soccer pitch(currently home to our minor league team, the Scorpions of the NASL) here in our beautiful city.

right now our stadium has only 9,000 seating capacity. this could be our ticket to MLS

Watched the USMNT draw with Honduras and it is sad how little depth we have.
We are pretty darn good in that first 15 or so guys but it gets real thin after that IMHO.

Scorpions 0-0 Strikers tied at the 61 minute. FT Lauderdale could probably score on a penalty kick

Watched US v Ireland and it detailed just how poor the US depth is.
A lot of the US mainstays were back in the sucky MLS so we had back ups all over and played even with Ireland.
Once they subbed off the handful of remaining US stars we got blown out of the water with a 3 goal surge over the final 30 mins by a bunch of guys in 2nd and 3rd tier leagues.

The US badly needs to get its kids overseas to play professionally.

Congrats to the Los Angeles Galaxy: MLS Champions, after defeating New England 2-1 in overtime. Landon Donovan is heading off to into the sunset.

Most of those players vs Ireland are playing overseas (in Europe) That was a C squad for USA experimenting . Dublin is a very difficult place too play Ireland always beats England there and recently beat Germany there also .

Today's game vs Chile should be interesting it's a mixture of young / veterans .

Ireland have never beaten England in Ireland in the 5 games that have been played there since the end of the second world war though they were winning in I think it was '97 when the game had to be abandoned because the English fans started ripping out the seating and throwing it on the pitch.
