What are the thoughts about USA Today's mock draft? It started with trading the Cowboys 1st and 4th to KC for their 1st, 2nd and 3rd rounders. It gives the Cowboys the 32nd pick in the 1st round and 2 picks in both the 2nd and the 3rd rounds.

The more I think about it, the more I like it. The Cowboys could really use that ammo to reload the defense and could afford to grab a WR if they wanted. Five picks in the first three rounds just sounds like a great way to start this years draft.

The premise of the article is that the Cowboys should draft Dak's replacement (JORDAN LOVE, UTAH STATE) but if you scroll down they mock the full 7 rounds.

I think next year when Lewis and Chido are free agents we're going to be hurting at CB they couldn't even replace one CB this year. They should have just used the CB pick on someone else, Pride has a backup grade on NFL and we already signed Canady in free agency.. The same with the LB Gay except he has a practice squad grade on NFL. They didn't address our other biggest need edge rusher until round 7 almost like an afterthought. If we do plan on taking a QB I would rather try to get their first choice at QB Jalen Hurts on day 2.

I should have waited until I was awake before responding. There were several players in the mock that I would get excited if we picked them. The idea of taking a QB in the draft is interesting also. If Gregory comes back edge rusher need could be mitigated depending on how soon he gets into playing shape. There are still players I would prefer over Pride and Gay but some people have them rated pretty high.

I think I like the picks after the second 2nd round better than the 1st and first 2nd round picks.

No, no, and hell no to the 1st two picks. Love the rest of the draft though. I don't like taking a QB in the first round. We are about to commit $35 million to Dak. 3rd round, Maybe. I know a lot of guys like Winfield, but not me. He's a little short and that does matter. I bet he tries hard, works hard and plays hard. But so do a lit of WRs and TEs. They will create mismatches, especially in the red zone and abuse Winfield. Maybe I am wrong. There is a chance I am, but I don't want that risk with my second pick especially after I traded down and took a QB in the first round. Take one player who won't play for a few years, then another in the 2nd whose height may limit is ceiling?

I love the trade and the picks but am not crazy with the choices. This draft has 3 rounds of difference makers that could be starters this year or next, 4 if you add a deep class Wr in the 4th. Adding 2 extra quality picks by sliding down 15 slots seems like a good value in this draft unless Kinlaw, Brown, Tua, or Okudah surprisingly slide. 5 quality picks, possibly 6 with a 4th round WR would be better than staying put with our current draft slotting IMHO. 982 vs 950 in JJ's draft value chart is a plus too.

This deal could yield something like:

R1: - 32 - Gladney- CB
R2: - 51- Gallimore- DT
R2: - 63 - Okwara- Edge
R3: - 82 - Hennesse - C
R3: - 96 - Chinn - S
R4: to KC
R5: - 164-Tyler Johnson - WR
R5: - 179-AJ Green - CB
R7: - 231- Jacob Breeland - TE

For a second I thought article was suggesting we trade our 5th round pick for the dolphins cheerleaders which I would totally be in favor of

I'd trade our 2nd and 3rd for the brunette up front.

I like the whole draft. I just don't think the 7th rounder will be there.

I would pay Dak $50 Million a year to avoid the possibility of drafting Jordan Love.
