The 24-hour rule has been enforced with the Dallas Cowboys. They learned from their defeat against the New Orleans Saints and have moved on. The focus is now on Week 5 and the Green Bay Packers.

Head coach Jason Garrett gave a few injury updates on some notable players who have either been missing games, or came up with some ailments in the loss to the Saints.

Michael Gallup

Wide receiver Michael Gallup will go through at least a limited portion of practice today as he works back from Sept. 16 knee surgery, according to a source. He has missed the last two games but picked up his pace in rehab late last week. Speaking on… https://t.co/rw1kX2eotg

Gallup has missed the last two games since undergoing arthroscopic surgery following the game against the Washington Commanders. It’s a good sign towards his rehabilitation that he’s able to take part in limited fashion.

The Cowboys offense certainly misses his reliable hands and his explosiveness on the field. There’s a small chance Gallup plays Sunday however, the Cowboys will certainly play the long-game as there’s a lot of football left to be played.

The defensive line has been missing several starters over the previous few weeks but there was some encouraging news with Woods returning to practice.

Woods has been out since suffering a knee injury in Week 2. A key cog in stopping the opponent’s running game, Wood’s services were missed Sunday as the Saints were able to control the line-of-scrimmage and win the time-of-possession battle.

Tyrone Crawford remains out and will not practice Wednesday with a hip injury he’s been dealing with for a few weeks. Crawford had offseason surgery on one hip, and a couple weeks ago started experiencing problems in the other one.

Garrett did indicate he hoped to have Crawford practicing by the end of the week, though, so eyes will remain focused on his progress.

Also of note during the Saint’s game was the reduced snap count of All-Pro DeMarcus Lawrence, especially as the game wore on. Lawrence was dealing with a bone bruise to his leg as he had a noticeable limp when leaving the field late in the game. He also reportedly injured the non-surgically repaired shoulder in the contest.
