Dallas Cowboys football is back. While it appeared to those in attendance to be more of a glorified OTA practice, for the first time since the 2019 regular season ended the Cowboys got on the field together to work on drills.

The men in charge were almost wholly different, as Mike McCarthy has taken over for Jason Garrett and brought in a gang of new coaches to help implement his vision for a championship outfit. Several of the players on the field were new, too, after free agency and the draft composed a new product in the franchise’s quest to earn a sixth Lombardi trophy. On the first day of practice the pecking order can shed some insight into where things stand, but injuries to some spots and deference to veterans in others can alter perception a bit.

Still, it’s nice to have a starting lineup to peruse.

Starting Defense: Nickel

Left Defensive End: DeMarcus Lawrence
Defensive Tackle: Gerald McCoy
Defensive Tackle: Tyrone Crawford
Right Defensive End: Aldon Smith
Linebacker: Leighton Vander Esch
Linebacker: Jaylon Smith
Left Corner: Chidobe Awuzie
Strong Safety: Xavier Woods
Free Safety: Ha Ha Clinton-Dix
Right Corner: Anthony Brown
Slot Corner: Jourdan Lewis

Starting Offense: 11 Personnel

Left Tackle: Tyron Smith
Left Guard: Connor Williams
Center: Joe Looney
Right Guard: Zack Martin
Right Tackle: Wyatt Miller
X Receiver: Amari Cooper
Y Receiver: Michael Gallup
Slot Receiver: CeeDee Lamb
Tight End: Blake Jarwin
Running Back: Ezekiel Elliott
Quarterback: Dak Prescott
