There’s only one thing that can dampen the mood that comes with the kind of win the Dallas Cowboys had over the New York Giants on Sunday’s season opener: injuries. Head coach Jason Garrett joined Shan Shariff and RJ Choppy on 105.3 The Fan to talk about that and more on Monday morning.
There was immediate concern when All-Pro guard Zack Martin was pulled from the game. As it turns out, it was purely precautionary. There was no reason for Martin to continue to play in a game that was out of reach when he’s been nursing a sore back. On Martin’s play, Garrett had this to say:

He did reenter the game, along with the other starters who had been taken out of the game to rest, for the celebratory kneel featuring the famous “Landry Shift”.
In fact, Dallas had only one player faced any adversity when it came to health in the season opener: Jeff Heath. However, it doesn’t seem his coach is concerned with the availability going forward.

Coming out of a game in the NFL healthy cannot be understated. It also is unlikely to continue throughout the sum of the season. However, while some teams across the league are sorting out contingency plans, the Cowboys find themselves exactly where they want to be.
