The Dallas Cowboys could be looking at a stretch of the season without one of their steadiest contributors this season. Back in March, video emerged of a person who looked very similar to defensive lineman and one of Rod Marinelli’s elder statesman Tyrone Crawford being involved in a bar brawl. He and his friends were caught on cell phone camera mixing it up with other patrons inside a Florida bar called the Coyote Ugly Saloon.

The spring break tussle led to some being arrested and there was additional video that allegedly showed Crawford getting a few shoves in on police officers who were detaining another man. That evening has now led to criminal charges. According to TMZ, Crawford is being hit with unlawful assembly charges which carry a maximum penalty of 60 days in jail. He seems to have avoided more serious assault-related charges.

But, despite the footage, court records show Crawford was only charged with the single misdemeanor count of unlawful assembly, which a maximum sentence of up to 60 days in jail.

It does not appear as if Crawford was ever formally arrested — but we know he’s already entered a not guilty plea and is currently fighting the charge. He’s due back in court next month.

We know the Panama City Beach Police Dept. conducted an investigation — and spoke with multiple Coyote Ugly staffers.

One staffer told police Crawford’s party had been bothering a female bartender at an inside area earlier that evening and they had been told to stay outside for the rest of the night or leave the premises.

Crawford has been with the Dallas Cowboys since being drafted in the third round in 2012. He’s the jack of all trades for the defensive line, playing both inside and outside wherever the Cowboys need him. He notched a career-high with 5.5 sacks in 2018, with 34 combined tackles, two passes defensed and a forced fumble.

He has two years remaining on his current contract, signed in 2015. He stands to make $7,000,000 in 2019 and has a cap hit of $10.1 million. Crawford has never been suspended by the league.

Near the end of the 2018 regular season, Crawford suffered a scary neck injury on just the second play of the game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He ended up missing the season finale against the Giants but returning for the playoff run.

The Cowboys seem covered in case the league decides to hand down some discipline. The hybrid defender has been augmented by free agent Kerry Hyder, who can play both end and defensive tackle. The club also traded for right-side DE Robert Quinn and drafted under tackle Trysten Hill with their first pick of the NFL draft.

suspension coming. Each year, same ole storyline...we have early stretches of players being MIA due to suspension... THAT is a culture issue, no other way you can say it isn't. See the pattern.
