As depth is an important part of building a championship team, the Dallas Cowboys are taking the necessary steps to ensure they have it in their roster. The latest move brings them help in Drew Scott, able to help take the wear and tear off freshly re-signed veteran L.P. Ladouceur.

Scott spent 2018 with the Oakland Raiders and will be tasked with keeping the snap count for the 15-year veteran limited during training camp.

The Cowboys have added a second long snapper in Drew Scott. He spent time last year with the Oakland Raiders. The Cowboys like to have two long snappers on the roster to alleviate the work for veteran L.P. Ladouceur.

Ladouceur is one of the last remaining members from the Bill Parcells era Cowboys. Scott could look at this gig as just being a camp body, or he could seize an opportunity in training camp, much like how Brett Maher did in 2018. Everyone assumed Maher was only brought in to keep the leg of incumbent kicker Dan Bailey fresh, but Maher ended up making the team and booting the longest field goal in Cowboys history.

The Cowboys have been active in the second week of free agency. They’ve signed Randall Cobb to add to their offense on the heels of adding Christian Covington and Kerry Hyder to augment their defense. Now, they’ve even found a way to add to their special teams.
