Late in the week there was suddenly real optimism surrounding some of the Dallas Cowboys availability for the Sunday night showdown with the Philadelphia Eagles. Players that hadn’t practiced all week were able to get some work in Friday’s practice included offensive tackles Tyron Smith and La’el Collins, wide receivers Amari Cooper and Randall Cobb as well as cornerback Byron Jones.

It’s confirmed. Every single one of the aforementioned players will be suited up for the most important game of the year to date, a chance to hold sole control over the NFC East and the inside track to a playoff spot. Cornerback Anthony Brown, injured last week, will not be joining in.

Cowboys inactives: Devin Smith, Anthony Brown, Luke Gifford, Adam Redmond, Brandon Knight, Justin Hamilton, Dorance Armstrong.

Tackle Brandon Knight filled in admirably for the injured La’el Collins but seeing his name here may mean that La’el Collins isn’t just attempting to play, but ready to play. Defensive end Dorance Armstrong is still suffering from his neck inury.

As for the Eagles, there’s no surprises, as they announced six of the seven inactive players after Friday’s practice. Left tackle Jason Peters will be inactive as he deals with a knee injury aggravated in the Week 6 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. Rookie Andre Dillard will start for the first time in his stead.

Wide receiver and deep threat DeSean Jackson isn’t yet ready to return to the lineup as he continues to deal with the abdominal tear that’s been plaguing him since Week 2. With cornerback Avonte Maddox out, a familiar face will be lined up across from the Dallas receivers in the form of Orlando Scandrick.

Linebacker Nigel Bradham is also inactive, so Nathan Gerry and Kamu Grugier-Hill will start. Rounding out the inactive list is defensive tackle Tim Jernigan, who will miss his fourth straight contest, and running back and jack of all trades Darren Sproles.
