The Dallas Cowboys are preparing to start their journey towards the 2019 regular season this week as organized team activities are set to take place over the next couple of days. After an extremely quiet offseason, star running back Ezekiel Elliott finds himself in the news after being caught on video getting detained by Las Vegas Metro police after event security confronted him over an interaction between he and what is being reported as his girlfriend.

A lengthy cell phone video that follows Elliott and the young woman around for almost two full minutes and was obtained and released by TMZ shows the two having a discussion at several different points, but showing event security getting involved. At one point Elliott turns in the direction of one of the staffers who then backs into a security railing. The man falls to the ground revealing Elliott’s right arm being extended towards the man. This led to him being placed in handcuffs.

Per the TMZ article, Elliott’s lawyer is saying the handcuffing was an overreaction.

“Security misconstrued and overreacted to the situation,” Salzano tells TMZ Sports.

“He was cuffed as a precautionary measure. He was released with no charges. He left Vegas that night and went to his [youth football camp in Dallas] on Sunday.”

Elliott was supsended in 2017 over a domestic violence accusation and therefore is under league scrutiny for any and all incidents.
