The Dallas Cowboys will finally start a possession in opponent’s territory. In what feels like a playoff game despite only being October, Dallas is playing the Philadelphia Eagles with first place and a winning record on the line. Big players need to make big plays in these games.

The under-performing duo of linebackers Leighton Vander Esch and Jaylon Smith met Dallas Goedert near the first down marker knocking the ball free. Maliek Collins recovered.

Smith was credited with the forced fumble, his second of the year. Funny how starting with a short field makes things even easier. Riding the coattails of Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott, the Cowboys had just inched into the red zone when they dialed up an option play to wide receiver Tavon Austin.

20 yards and six points later, the Dallas Cowboys lead the Philadelphia Eagles 7-0 with just over 10 minutes to play in the first quarter.
