If White falls to us at 18 should we take him?

He seems to fit the BP mold.

A running back is the last thing we need right now.

(There is a draft zone for this stuff)

That crossed my mind earlier today, but we don't really need another RB. Winston Justice on the other hand...

Lendale White benefits greatly from having a TREMENDOUS offensive line to block for him. ANYONE could have run thru the holes he had last night. That's not to say that he isn't a very good RB though.

That said, the last thing we should do is draft another RB.. we're solid at that position.

When do you fix the LB's, OL, FS issues?

Personnally, I like JJ and Barber!

if white is still there when we pick, we start looking for suitors for a trade down. someone will give up some picks to get a chance to draft him.

Hell, no. Marion Barber is as good as White, IMO.
I am a bit disturbed by White's gut. Should a 20 year old, who is going to be a high pick in the NFL draft be having a beer gut? Did anyone else detect this?

White takes too many hits. He will have a short NFL carreer.

That's what they said about Bettis when he was at Notre Dame.

Ha... Bettis is a one of a kind player. You can't point to a single other RB in the last 20 years and tell me he is like Bettis. It's like saying you don't have to be taller than 6 foot to play QB... look at Flutie. Those guys are the exceptions, not the rule.

I'll stick to the averages.

I keep thinking White would be a good fit for pittsburgh or philly...in a two back system.

White is only a Junior and will stay at USC for another year. He was in the shadow of Bush and will want next year to make his own run at the Heisman.

I am not so sure...with his performance in the Rose Bowl he may get advice to strike while he is hot.

Nobody knows how things will go if they return because of possible injuries or the idea that other members of the team will be gone and he will be playing with a young QB.
