A bird in hand is better than two in a bush. I'm only interested in two things when it comes to kickers. Leg strength and accuracy. Aubrey at some point is going to get the NFL field goal distance record.

Just saying, Aubrey came out of nowhere and there were a lot of people ready to cut him during training camp his first year....probably would have if there was a legit vet competitor.

This kid put on a show and will cost a $1m compared to Aubrey's average of $7m or more. The difference between the best kickers and above average ones literally works out to a handful of missed kicks over a year.

That $6m saved would likely have got us any one of the LBs we supposedly were after if added to our offer. When you are trying to fit players under the cap....you have to save money where you can. It's the difference between paying Brock Hoffman $2.5m instead of paying a guy with similar experience and results $1.4m.

Of course, looking deeper....you find out that he was 13 of 21 in 2024 and was only a kickoff specialist in 2025. But there are some stud kickers with great stats coming out.
