I only trade up for Gurley. Gordon has a better chance to fall to 27.

No way whatsoever Gordon gets to 27. Lions, Cards, and Ravens all want him... the idea that all would pass on him is crazy. In this scenario though we would likely get a 4th or 5th back, so it's basically trading up 5 spots in the first and trading down 28 spots in the 3rd. Totally worth IMO if we get the right player that will help us win a Super Bowl.

I guess you really want Gordon.

I'm just throwing a trade up out there based on some news during the week. Having said that, I think Gordon is a very safe pick unlike Gurley. Gurley is more talented but also has had ankle injuries and then of course the ACL. Gordon's style of running will no doubt give him a long career.

Keep in mind that the scheme Dallas runs is based on Wisconsin's and Gordon was 40 yards shy of breaking Barry Sanders incredible total yard record. I would have no problem with the move up.

A trade back is the best move for Dallas unless they really feel that Gordon and the moves they already made on defense puts in them in the NFC championship game.

A trade back and grab Gordon in the second. Really I don't care who we pick as long as they are a OL, RB, DT, S I really don't want a CB or a WR.

I love Gordon as a runner but be ready to see an awful lot of McFadden in 2015 if we draft Gordon. Gordon is a 2 down player right now and will be off the field in most passing situations

Gordon may end up being great.
I wouldn't trade up, but I do like him.

I would ask anyone that interested to watch his highlights behind that dominant Wisconsin line.
Also, what stood out besides the great runs was the level of competition.
Lots of
Bowling a Green
Illinois
S Florida

That does not at all mean he can't be great in NFL. It's just noteworthy.

Lol
Then you look at what he did vs LSU and Auburn...killed them...and you feel better.

Yes, it was much different when they played Ohio State.

He has been a 3 down back. He has the size to pick up blitzes and can catch though he wasn't asked to much

What would you guys say our blocking scheme is now?
More of a hybrid?

Yes, they run both Zone and Man concepts.

One thing they did often last season was to continually run zone to the left over and over and then they would run a power type play to the right. The zone left had the defenders cheating to get a jump left and were out of place in the power right run. Martin and Parnell really gashed some teams on the power run right and Murray had some easy yards.

It took commitment to the run to make this work because often the zone left was not gaining many yards.

I agree. I still see it primarily as a ZBS, but with some young and fairly powerful guys, they man it up some too.
I guess you really gave to do that anyway, to keep the defense honest.

I asked because although I'm not as big of a Gordon fan as many around here, he does fit our scheme well.

Yes, it's not just simple power man either, they have the full compliment of pulls, traps and counters in the playbook.

IMO, most RBs can physically play in a Zone scheme but it's the mental approach that is the key. It's really hard for some RBs be have the discipline to make one cut and take what is available. Their instincts are often to dance around looking for more but that is a no-no in Zone. I'll agree that Murray didn't have the best vision, but a large part of the issue is the he was doing what is required in the Zone Scheme. There are some great videos by the Zone Guru Alex Gibbs on youtube if you ever have time I recommend them; although be forewarned about the language. He has a very specific expectation on how a RB should play based on the actions of the defense relative to the blockers.

So doesn't that give you at least some pause with Ajayi?
For his size he dances a good bit.
