I was going to surprise my wife with roses, which would set her up to give me an offhanded jab about how next year she would prefer tulips, then surprise her by taking her to a "tulip-centric" art/flower show at a botanical reserve later this afternoon. Followed by a Surf n' Turf dinner at home while the Aunt kept the kids overnight. Thanks to the snow, the flower delivery is up in the air and the tulip/art show will certainly not happen. I have a four wheel drive though, so those kids are getting dumped regardless! :)

Every day can be Valentines Day, .. if you both want it to be.

Maybe not with flowers and dinner out every day, .. but with the love and respect you treat each other with.

Make sure you let your spouse know every day that you are crazy about'em.

Had tickets to take my wife to see Dan Hicks and the Hot Licks tonight, but Dan was diagnosed with a throat cancer and has cancelled his spring tour, leaving me high and dry. Awfully selfish of him, if you ask me. So now I'm scrambling.

Just kidding, Dan. Get well soon.

The wife and I were HS sweethearts and this is our 15th Valentines together. I wouldn't trade her for anything!

Single and loving it! First one I've been single for in a couple years and man is it nice. I won't have to spend any money or do any work. Just hit up the bar around midnight tonight, be like fish in a barrel.

Got up first and got her candy and card out that she thought I had forgotten to buy.
Fixed breakfast for us,Boy, was she surprised.
At about one o'clock I asked if she wanted to go get a burger instead of cooking?
Instead of a burger we went to one of her favorite places to eat, The Cracker Barrel.
So I managed to get in several Happy Valentine's Day surprises.

Chauvinist! Takes all the guesswork out of why you're single!

We haven't celebrated Valentines day for a few years now. We both feel it's mostly for younger couples, and mostly a hallmark holiday. We are boring like that I guess.
Our 8 year Anniversary was just January 2nd anyhow, we did stuff then.

Great, .. good for both of you too. Love to hear young husbands talk like that.

My wife and I were high school sweethearts too, but we did it the hard way, ... different high schools, and they were rivals. LOL .. That was tough back then, high schools hated each other, unlike now.

That was 42 years ago, .. wouldn't trade her for anything.

Well done my man! She is a lucky girl.
