How is murder any where in the world a 15-35 year sentence? If found guilty with no reason to doubt it should be death.

Pretty much the same as the US. Life sentences doesn't really mean your life.

If I remember correctly, in many/some states the average time spent in jail for murder is around 10 years.

That's sick.

And I also read that somewhere close to 1/3 of all murders are unsolved.

Canada it is an automatic life sentence with no eligibility for parole for 25 years for 1st degree and I think 15 years for second degree.
