Seems to have saved our scheme, but didn't properly prepare our team to come out and perform at full speed.

This applies to the offense and defense.

The fact that this team is talking about just finding a sense of urgency reflects really poorly on our leadership and our coaching. Not to mention this idea of JUST finding our identity.

I think the defense is further along than the offense, but even then I think we're really struggling. We're not stopping the run, and we're still giving up huge chunks in the passing game. Only bright spot is our redzone defense.

Shouldn't this have been posted two weeks ago?

Someone needs to take this guys thread-starting privileges away, holy crap.

It's one thing to have an opinion and quite another to think every opinion you have is worthy of an entirely new thread, even if it's been discussed to death already.

Okay, here we go:

We're not stopping the run

We’re not?

Against the Skins and the Bears we gave up 127 yards combined on 42 carries combined, that’s 3.0 ypc. For the year we are giving up 3.9 ypc. Of course, Arien Foster had a really good game against us, but that was the price to pay for containing Andre Johnson and Owen Daniels. Personally, I’ll take that every time.

we're still giving up huge chunks in the passing game

We are 11th in 20+ yard passes allowed per pass attempts, 16th in 40+ pass yards allowed per pass attempts and 13th when you combine the two.

Only bright spot is our redzone defense

That and our 3rd down defense which is t-1st in the league right now (24%).

I’m more concerned about the offensive playcalling than anything else right now and the defense’s ability to communicate pre-snap. If the Cowboys can get those two things down pretty well, it’s tough for anybody to beat them.
