So does Vela still write for blogging the boys?
Yes, he does.

Well, I haven't seen anything of his on there in a while. This blog has a lot of posts since his last post on BTB.

Anyone know why he left? It seemed like a great thing to have Grizz and Vela writing great articles all the time.

Vela always produces great articles! This was a good read.

good for Vela - like his stuff

I dislike Grizztz

if your not his yes man your off his site

Vela started his own site, Worley came back to BTB.com, BTB added two more writers, and Bob Sturm now also contributes to DMN.

You have to really love the level of writing we enjoy as Cowboys fans that aren't part of the mainstream media, Sturm now excepted. I was chatting with Atlanta fans last year on their boards and I imported some of the stuff BTB and Sturm had written, basically asking if they had something similar to see any nuances on their offense and/or defense.

They had nothing like it. There was some jealousy there regarding what we get as Cowboys fans.

No question we get some of the best stuff out there. There isn't even a close 2nd really.

Like you said, mainstream media is awful, but the people who know their stuff do a phenomenal job.

I really enjoy reading Bob Sturm...great stuff. Is he still going to do his Sturm Blog or is he just DMN now?

Looks like he's putting the DMN articles on his own blog as well. Today's was just a breakdown of personnel groups that you're familiar with if you read any of his stuff. Basically a "Decoding Garrett" primer.

Salty, please provide directions to his blog.

I've enjoyed Vela since he had his own blog. It also seems that his old 'side kick' remained with BTB.

Anyone know of why the divorce happened at BTB. BTB is shown as a Cowboy source in Yahoo Sports.

Also, what's up with TSN getting mainstream again and into broadcast?

Rubber Bands of Steel, Part Two -- Washington's Play Action Game

In the first part of yesterday's Commanders' preview, I looked at the wide stretch, a foundational running play in the Commanders playbook. I showed some stills from the Texans game to demonstrate how the zone blocking puts pressure on a the front seven to maintain line discipline and to avoid getting hooked away from pursuit.

Let's re-visit the third still, because it hints at the next progression in Washington's attack:

It's not a divorce. one of the guy's had a chance to start his own site, and did so. I won't be surprised at all when another BTB'er gets his own paid column somewhere. You add Raf, Sturm, Worley, et al to ESPN and the content quality of the Mothership goes through the roof from the basement it now occupies.

Thanks Salty, and I would go so far then as to include ESPN in the realm of sports again.

The funny thing is that, even though it is outdated, the Flex defense would be a perfect antidote for a zone blocking one cut run offense like the Commanders and Texans run.
