Folks, who is the 3rd cornerback for the Dallas Cowboys right now? Right now?

What was the Achilles heel for last year’s defense? It was cornerback depth, no? Anybody remember how Tom Brady got the Patriots marching up and down the field in their win over Dallas?

I’ll remind you. He would look up, time after time and see Nate Jones matched against Wes Welker. And any time he needed 7 to 10 yards to convert a 3rd down, he found Welker, who abused Jones so badly poor Nate was often not in the TV shot when Welker caught the pass.

How did the Giants climb back into the Divisional Playoff game? By finding whomever was matched against Jacques Reeves and throwing him the ball.

Now, let me ask the question again. Who is Dallas’ third corner today? Because Reeves was that guy and he’s in Houston now. Jones was the #4 and he’s going to leave very soon.

If Dallas wants to make a Super Bowl run, it needs a corner, maybe two.

That’s why mock drafts that give Dallas a running back with the first pick or have it trading out of round one and not selecting a CB insult my intelligence, and make me very angry, to quote Michael Corleone. Dallas has two first rounders and if round one ends without the Cowboys obtaining at least one CB the personnel guys should be fired on the spot.

“Draft experts” who gift the Cowboys a platoon running back in round one and neglect the team’s biggest need are not serious. They do not have the team’s best interests in mind.

Please don’t flatter them by pasting their merde in the threads.

– As for the Pacman Jones rumors, and they’re coming back, can anybody pimping this idea tell me when Jones will be reinstated? Because you can’t acquire a guy who can’t play — for anybody. And last I heard Jones was far from getting his game field pass. I read one source I trust who thinks he won’t play for anybody this year.

And until Roger Goodell reinstates him, Jones is dead to me.

Atta boy RV. Sing it loud, sing it proud. I got your hallelujah. I hope this clamor dies down fast.

I would be happy with:

DRC
McKlevin
Talib
Jenkins
Reggie Smith
Cason
Flowers

One of the top 5 will be there at #22.
Dream scenario is DMc, Stewart or Mendenhall at #22 and one of the above CBs at #28.

Man, talk about 'hitting the nail on the head'....I've had this opinion since the end of the season...we need CB help now.....:starspin

BINGO!

It is clear that if we can't solve this problem, we aren't likely going to the Super Bowl, plain and simple. We'll see.

..there are 4-5 CBs that are considered 1st rd. material.

but there are questions after the first 2-3 as to whether they are going to be worth their value if taken too high in the first round. or that there are still some valued CBs in the 2nd rd, too.

I also have to think that Dallas has to absolutely resist the urge to reach with any of these draft picks. If the RB we want is there, take him. If the WR is there, take him. if the CB is there, take him.

But don't get fixated on that we need at CB in the 1st Rd..PERIOD.

Yes we need to address the position and yes we need some skill at the positions of CB.

But we also need to make the right decisions with not panicking over the situation and blow our opportunities at these other positions at RB and WR.

B/w our 2 1's and our 2nd rd. pick, we should have ample opportunity to get what we need. They may not be future All Pros, but who knows.

Sign Pacman even in July when the league is supposed to reinstate him. Otherwise we could go into 2008 with a bunch of yo-yo's as 3rd/4th CB's.

Then the masses will scream after our secondary is being lit up.

Irvin liked to party and get into trouble, but he was talented. Well Pacman is talented as well and we need him, so drop the high and mighty judgements and work the phone as soon as he is available.

You forgot to mention Henry and his busted tackle...that led to the Giants game winning TD. :(

Lucky for you...I didn't.

I'm not on this forum as much as others so for a while there i though you might have been unfairly targeted by other Zoners.

But man, do you ever have anything else to say other than 'Henry sux' and 'Reeves is the next comming of D. Sanders'?

The word 'agenda' gets thrown around on this forum a bit too much but in your case it is dead on. I don't think i remember reading anything else you contributed on other than this same topic, over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over...........................................................

By now everyone knows where you stand, depending on the thread we can see you comming before you even post a single word.

Say something else, comment on a different topic, start a new thread on something refreshing.

come on, you can do it.

I always like what Vela has to say, and now I am reminded why.

I will say this though, I have seen many a thread on the issue of CB, and most everyone here who is a long term member and posts often, have put a lot of emphasis on CB and rightfully so.

It seems the periodic poster comments on obtaining DMac and speculates on ******** ideas of throwing all our money at Randy Moss.

Anyone who really follows our needs couldn't possibly argue that we need a couple of CB's.

If we can acquire two in the first round without trading up or down, I'd be all for it, but if we don't take at least one in the first, and one in the second, I will be disappointed. And if we don't take one in the first at all, I'll be pissed.

Edunce is a ****ing joke...who un baned this fool?

anyways hope we solve our Secondary Mysteries

This draft reminds me of 1992. We knew we needed alot of secondary help and had two 1's, 3 two's, and 3 three's to do it. We ended up getting Kevin Smith in the first and Darren Woodson in the second. I would prefer, however, that if the top tier Cb's are gone we move down and try to cluster picks in round two. Whatever we do, we need to get value for our picks. A trade like last year wouldn't be bad. We shouldn't let our need for a corner make us reach for a player. Cornerbacks if you know what to look for within your scheme can be found all through the draft.
