Folks, who is the 3rd cornerback for the Dallas Cowboys right now? Right now?
What was the Achilles heel for last year’s defense? It was cornerback depth, no? Anybody remember how Tom Brady got the Patriots marching up and down the field in their win over Dallas?
I’ll remind you. He would look up, time after time and see Nate Jones matched against Wes Welker. And any time he needed 7 to 10 yards to convert a 3rd down, he found Welker, who abused Jones so badly poor Nate was often not in the TV shot when Welker caught the pass.
How did the Giants climb back into the Divisional Playoff game? By finding whomever was matched against Jacques Reeves and throwing him the ball.
Now, let me ask the question again. Who is Dallas’ third corner today? Because Reeves was that guy and he’s in Houston now. Jones was the #4 and he’s going to leave very soon.
If Dallas wants to make a Super Bowl run, it needs a corner, maybe two.
That’s why mock drafts that give Dallas a running back with the first pick or have it trading out of round one and not selecting a CB insult my intelligence, and make me very angry, to quote Michael Corleone. Dallas has two first rounders and if round one ends without the Cowboys obtaining at least one CB the personnel guys should be fired on the spot.
“Draft experts” who gift the Cowboys a platoon running back in round one and neglect the team’s biggest need are not serious. They do not have the team’s best interests in mind.
Please don’t flatter them by pasting their merde in the threads.
– As for the Pacman Jones rumors, and they’re coming back, can anybody pimping this idea tell me when Jones will be reinstated? Because you can’t acquire a guy who can’t play — for anybody. And last I heard Jones was far from getting his game field pass. I read one source I trust who thinks he won’t play for anybody this year.
And until Roger Goodell reinstates him, Jones is dead to me.
