So I recall people all super excited over the new iPhone getting ready to launch on Verizon. I specifically recall folks excited about the unlimited data Verizon was launchine along w/ it. I specifically recall me saying that it was a farse that they have no intention of sticking w/ unlimited data plans on Verizon and it has got to be a tease promo.

I was right. :D This unlimited data plan w/ it's iPhone launch is ONLY TEMPORARY and only to lure ATT folks back to Verizon. :D They will soon follow w/ the SAME TIER LEVEL pricing of data plans as ATT is currently using.

Verizon to Offer $30 Unlimited Data Plan for iPhone ... at First

Buyers of the upcoming Verizon (VZ: 35.74, +0.63, +1.79%) iPhone will have a $30 unlimited data plan option, but the offer will only be temporary, according to a report in The Wall Street Journal.

Verizon chief operating officer Lowell McAdam told the Journal this $30 per month unlimited option is partly to persuade AT&T (T: 28.64, +0.17, +0.60%) customers to switch to Verizon. AT&T dropped its unlimited data plan last year.

However, McAdam also said this offer would only be temporary and that Verizon plans to move to tiered pricing for data, like AT&T, in the future.

One thing about AT&T for me...I'm grandfathered in for the unlimited data plan.

As long as I don't change my plan I can get unlimited for life.

But I will at some point go to Verizon...only after the iPhone 5 comes out though.

So Verizon doesn't have an unlimited data plan at all? I was looking at their website the other day and they had an unlimited one listed for 29.99. I guess that's just the temporary one you're talking about.

I'm just glad I use Sprint, because my service is great, my bill is reasonable on my everything unlimited data plan, and I get a 25% discount off my bill due to where I work. :D

I couldn't care less about Iphone anyway, Android up in this piece. :laugh2:

Im w/ you. I am a diehard ANDROID fan. I am constantly tweaking rooting re-roming my dell streak for my own customizations.

Long gone are my iPhone days. I miss nothing about that locked down platform w/ no flash.

I wish they had Sprint up here in Anchorage. We only have ATT, but they have been great for the past 4 years I have been w/ them. I got luck and was grandfathered in on my data plan, so I actually got to keep my unlimited data w/ ATT.

Android is just awesome.

That isn't true. You are grandfathered in until your current plan expires. Once your two year contract is up you will not be able to get the $30 rate on the next plan.

True...for life was wrong.

Doesn't matter to me though...I'll be going with Verizon eventually regardless.
