He's an athlete, that's for sure. I'm just leery of Oregon QBs for obvious reasons, but worth a flyer, sure. Maybe he develops and then you've got a hyper-athletic mobile QB.

Yeah, that guy drafted last year sure can't play

One guy with a mediocre rookie season doesn't mean every dude coming out is going to be a second overall selection, what the ****, man.

He's worth a 6. I'd love to snag a very athletic guy with a pick that, many times, doesn't make the roster and see what he can be. We've done worse than him with late picks.

There are some out there that believe he would be drafted a lot higher if not for his height. Some really like him. That one guy from 105.3 the fan is a big fan of his...Jeff Cavanaugh (sp?)

Also...I think he only played one year at Oregon so maybe he is a bit different lol.

I have always maintained that if you can't find a starting caliber backup QB, then give me a mobile QB who can get first downs with his legs and slow the pass rush down as they make every effort to hold contain and lanes. A backup QB who can get a few first downs by running gives your offense extra attempts at scoring.

Yes. He can be our long term backup. Very big fan of that idea.

I have always been interested in that strategy. If you are lucky enough to have a true franchise QB, it is highly unlikely that you can also find a solid back up that can do the same things your #1 can do, so why not get one of these mobile QB's as your back up? It would not be that hard to put a decent sized package together for him and it would give the defense fits as they were preparing for your conventional starter all week. Normally, I would not want a run first QB as my starter, but to fill in for a game or two, I think its an intriguing idea.

Put your biases away. I get it, you don't like Oregon. But it is just plain pigheaded to not like players because of their school.

But when a guy comes in and posts a 91.5 PR for an awful team with a terrible oline and no running game, then you've clearly got someone who is a bit more than mediocre.

Suddenly you got something against undersized QB's that will never be anything more than a backup?

Watched Oregon a plenty.....he's a one read QB....and if it's not there...he's a deer in headlights looking to run. He's gonna get killed on this level when he takes off.

It would be fine if you can stow him away for 2 years see if he can be a backup or better.

I actually love Oregon, I just don't like the idea of their quarterbacks at the next level.

But, as I've said - a 6th round pick on Vernon Adams could be a potential steal.
