Vernon Adams...

3rd round, no. Cowboys did talk to him at the Shrine practices though. I am totally intrigued by this player. Knows how to play the game and has pocket presence, most importantly finishes drives.

QB Vernon Adams, Oregon (5-11, 195): Frankly, Adams did everything short of growing 6 inches to boost his NFL stock, tossing three touchdowns in the first half to pace the West's 29-9 win. The Eastern Washington transfer showed the dual-threat capabilities that have earned him frequent Russell Wilson comparisons, eluding defenders with balance and agility and quieting critics with polished throws from the pocket.

I've always liked him, but why take him in the 3rd if you can get him later

I guess it depends where you think hes going to go. He put on a clinic at the Shrine game, using some really savvy technique that's impressive for his level of experience.

I think he CAN be a really good QB. I'd be tempted to take him a round early just for the sake of competition.

I will say that coming from Oregon he's going to be really disappointed with the pay of his draft position.

Using that 4th round compensatory pick on him would be nice... however, I do agree that it's unlikely that the coaches would know how to utilize his talent.

Um, its a virtual certainty.

Late round prospect. He's not as thick as Russell Wilson. He's RGIII size.

How 'bout "highly unlikely"?... does that work for you?.. I'm sure Adams can make them look good in the short term until
defenses see him a second time.

Yes, I would if we had different coaches. There's no point wasting a later Rd pick with Wilson in charge of their development.

I agree 100% with what you said. Vernon Adams to me is the most fascinating player in this draft. I dont know if he is going to be a CFL all star, Russell Wilson, or somewhere between. But I'd rather throw a late comp pick at him than some special teams stiff to get the chance to figure that out.
