Wow, talk about a fall from grace. Just announced on NFLN that Magini said it was "time for rookies to stop acting like rookies." and they deactivated Gholston for today.

Count me as one of the guys that wished we'd had a shot at the guy, despite the pretty obvious warning signs that were there even at the time, but considering how our draft class has worked out, I'd be interested in seeing how they grade the drafts now that we've seen some of the results. I think the usual suspects were giving us what, a B- to B+ for our draft?

Gholston has been a huge disappointment, but he isnt the only one.

Still, the Jets had to think they were getting more from that high a pick than what they got this yr. The guy has 12 tackles and no sacks for the season.

It's a crapshoot. He's a physical beast and was productive in college. Maybe he'll turn it around.

My buddy is in the scouting department with the Jets and he said that Vernon has a horrible work ethic and is a "work-out warrior." And he'll be labeled a bust very soon...

Mangini's defense probably isnt the easiest for a rookie to learn either. He will probably fare better next yr

Looks like Tarzan, plays like Jane - no surprise here.

Everyone said before the draft he has the biggest bust potential.

It is too early to tell but it is looking that way.

I'll give the kid at least 2 seasons before I lable him a bust. He's certainly a disappointment for them this year.

The knack on him at Ohio St. was that he was a Randy Moss-type player who took plays off every now and then, and occasionally would lose heart.

Well if he turns out to be the defensive equivalent of Randy Moss for the Jets I'm sure they won't care. It's not like Moss has been chopped liver in the NFL.
