Two years ago they went on a free agency spree. They signed Gerhardt, Clemons, Beadles, Bryant, Dekoda Watson and Ziggy Hood. None of those guys are even on the roster now.

Risen hit it on the head: the Jags have to spend a boatload of money to just hit the salary floor in regards to the cap. The Raiders are in the same boat. The contracts are going to be completely off the rails for guys who aren't that accomplished of players. Vernon is good, but not 18 million good.
And, unless they fix their offensive line, the Jags will continue to be jags.
