Yes, a ton will happen in between now and next offseason, but let's take a very early look at our 2026 needs:

1) WR-let's keep in mind both Tolbert/Campbell will be fa's after this season.
2) TE-Ferguson is a fa after this season.
3) Safety-I believe Wilson's contract is up after this season and Hooker is the following yr
4) LB-even if Overshown comes back healthy, depth remains thin as Murray/Sanborn will be fa's
6) CB-A decision needs to be made on Bland, probably cannot keep him and Diggs on big contracts. If one departs, still have one spot to fill.
6) DT-it will depend upon how Mazi performs in year 3 and our draftee from UCLA.

1) Mike --- even if Murray or Sanborn work out......they will be FA
2) CB -- Diggs on big contract, Bland wanting big contract...Revel will be wanting to prove himself to get his $$$$. Will still need a CB
3) RB -- already looks like you will need a bell cow to go with Blue
4) S -- guys are aging, and I have no idea if the new DC will use the two they have to their strengths or try to man them up on the elite TEs which is not their strength.
5) OT -- Guyton and Steele will both possibly need an upgrade.
6) WR -- depends on lots of factors like FA, developments this year, etc.
7) TE -- but that depends on how they want to utilize the TE position: blocker, playmaker, jack of all trades ???

8) 1T -- is Mazi and Jacobs/Toia going to be good or bust?
9) 3T -- Osa got paid, Soloman Thomas was a high draft pick.........are they actually going to produce ?

That would be my list........

I think a rotation at RB could be fine, but let's see how the 2 we drafted works out.

Something to keep in mind, it appears each of the last 4-5 years, Jerry has used the 1st round pick to replace a former Pro Bowl or ALL-Pro starter. With that said. I would think CB will be at the top if we let Bland and Diggs walk.

I agree. I actually think Mafah might be the guy, but I have a hard time thinking a 7th rounder "should" move the needle.

So if he is AWESOME............Dallas needs to look into its GM and Scouts. How did they miss it and it take this long to draft him?
If he is awful..... then they need to draft a bell cow.

If he is mediocre but can develop.......does he have a chance the way Dallas doesn't trust development ?

Biggest factor for Mafah in my mind is how the Cowboys do the roster math, and do they keep Luepke. If not they may keep four true RBs on the roster. If they go the standard 3 and use the extra roster spot elsewhere Mafah has a lot of competition. I would assume that Blue has the inside track on a roster spot. Same with Williams. It leaves some serious camp competition for that final spot with Mafah, Davis, Sanders, Vaughn.

Agree on all accounts. I think DT has a good chance to be a glaring need after this year.

RB could still be a need. I like Blue but he's not necessarily an every down back and he went lower imo due to the fumbling issue. Mafah could work out but otherwise I don't think we have a good long term compliment to Blue on the roster even if he does work out.

jeremiyah love,rb-notre dame.
then we can run the wing-t...or wish-bone.
or re-ignite coach landry's dream-backfield of dorsett/walker.....this version...blue/love.
we'll call it dallas' LOVE YA BLUE offense.

Many late rd backs have been productive in this league, could see a combo of Mafah/Blue being successful. It is more of a wait and see need as it is possible Mafah does even make the roster.

2026 Mock
1. MLB Anthony Hill Jr., Texas
2. WR Antonio Williams, Clemson
3. RB Kaytron Allen, Penn State
4. SS Jordan Castell, Florida
5. Slot CB Collin Wright, Stanford
5C. DE Max Llewellyn, Iowa
6. TE Sam Roush, Stanford
7. C Ben Coleman, Arizona State

Arch will be number 1 the no doubt number one pick by November. He will be talked about as the next best thing since Andrew Luck.

WR, LB, Saftey, CB, DT, TE, QB

so the only position I wouldn't consider is OL...........
