Very Good Breakdown of Cowboys Recent Signings

Dare I ask how much guaranteed you think Felix is worth, Joker? I also think you oerstate the impact that the signing bonus have. As the article points out the deal is not prohibitive. The Cowboys have a monetary advantage but the only was of using it is by guaranteeing more money of the first few years. Frontloading.

I think that somewhere around 5 years $22M should be fair value for Felix with maybe $7M guaranteed.

He is a great player that is unfairly maligned. The injuries are frustrating but I think the fans overestimate how many games he has missed since his rookie season when he had that freak injury (tore a tendon on his toe in practice). He missed a few games in 2009. He played every game in 2010. I think he missed 4 games last year when a DL fell on this leg - anyone would get injured on that play. Demarco Murray got knocked out of the season on a similar tackle against the Giants.

I think Murray and Felix can make an elite pairing. Felix has very little tread on his tires and is still young - only 25 years old. I think he is the same age as Bruce Irvin. The problem with re-signing most RBs is their play declines on the second contract so they aren't worth it. I don't think that logic applies to Felix for the reasons I have suggested.

The other thing about Felix is his ability as a receiver is underrated and he is a tremendous pass blocker. I remember him stoning JPP in one of the Giants games - it was very impressive.

For a backup RB thats about the ceiling that I would pay him. People such as Laughenberg(sp?) say draft a QB every year but I say draft a RB every year.

I agree that keeping Ball over a warm beer would have been a bad idea.
