Bledsoe started off slow but really got it together when he finally got some protection. I am kinda thinkin BP is trying new things and seein if they work. When the reg season comes I think Bledsoe will be good.

Crayton another excellent game. Copper did good to. Roy with some big hits. Gurode did good at center.

Romo stepped up his game big time from the last 2 games. Mad props to Romo. He played better then Bledsoe did.

Our D did a very good job tonite. Ware is just gonna be unreal. There are gonna be some teams really kickin themselves for not drafting him before we got him. Burnett did very good. So did T-New.

McBriar is great.

Our special teams can use some improvement. But not as bad as some people think. Only 2 negatives I can think of for this game.

1. Quincy Morgan. No explanation needed.

2. No playing time for Henson. I know when I saw those posts put up about BP not liking Henson I at first thought they were BS. Well it looks like they were true afterall. Did not even give Henson 1 snap. Nuff said.

One thing about Henson....

I won't be surprised if he gets major time in the final preseason game.

Maybe as much as 3 quarters.

Wolverine - Just wondering how you feel about Key, Glenn and Crayton going into the season. Not a bad trio imho.

We will not have the best WR corp in the NFL but I think we will have a good one. Look for Copper to take #4 WR.

CowboyChris. Next game look for Bledsoe to get the 1st half and Romo the 2nd half.

I don't think there was enough time to give all 3 QBs a fair shake after Bledsoe and the first team stayed in as long as they did.

It looks like Romo may be the #2 right now but I wouldn't read too far into it.

I mean Romo only got 8 pass attempts. Would you guys expect BP to divide that and give 4 pass attempts to each, instead?

Why does this have to be about BP "not liking" Henson instead of just Henson not being ready yet?

Bill fully signed on with the trade for Henson, this wasn't something forced on him by Jerry, nor do I think he would let it be.

Romo has an extra year in the system and didn't have a 3 year layoff - naturally he's going to be more advanced than Henson at this point, and just as naturally Bill is going to make sure his top two QBs are ready to play come Week 1.

THis isn't a Hutch "what is my role?" scenario. This is just about a guy getting back to football after 3 years being behind a guy who has been playing it continuously. Nothing more, nothing less.

I hope ROmo is ****** great this year if he's called on to play, and I hope the competition in camp next year is even better.

Exactly. The only reason Henson didn't play is cuz there wouldn't be enough plays to evaluate both QBs.

That said, I think, and have thought, that Romo is our #2 QB. Not because I think Henson sucks or anything, I think he just needs a bit more time. He didn't play any football for 3+ years for krissakes. He's gonna need more time then a normal QB to get back into the flow of a game. And eventhough his stats aren't as good as last year, I see improvement in him. He seems to be starting to at least try and decipher a defense whereas last year he was just throwing to his #1 guy regardless. It usually takes a "normal" QB 3 years to finally start "Getting it" so let's see how Henson does in his 3rd and 4th years before we start writing him off. And, YES, he will be here all of this season, all of next season, and all of the season after that. Book it!

True Rack.

We have Henson signed for plenty of time to give him a fair shake. We even have him long enough for him to get good even if he does in fact suck right now.
Romo on the other hand is gone after this season uless he shows something.

Time is on our side... and Henson's.

If nothing pans out this year, I'd like to see us draft a decent looking QB next year in the mid to late rounds (never in the first!) and let he and Henson battle it out. We'll still have Bledsoe next year so we can afford one more season of grooming.

The fact of the matter is that a great team would have perhaps scored on us early on and then, what would our reaction have been? I hate to say this, but starting slow on the first four or five series is not a good thing. This is the time when good teams jump on you and score to really put you in a bind. I can see where we might have an off game or two, but to consistently start of slow will be a problem. The team seems to be coming together as opposed to the previous 2 weeks, but we still need a lot of work.

Exactly. Which is why Henson will have this year and next year to continue to improve. The year after will be his year to compete for a starting job, which is about the time I think he should be ready to compete for a starting job.

Ken, I doubt that about Henson maybe seeing 3 quarters of action on THursday, the 3rd preseason game is supposed to be a dress rehearsal for the regular seaon, obviously tonight wasn't because of the short week, so we'll need that last game to get our starters alot of time...

Tonight WAS our dress rehearsal. The starters play into the 3rd quarter in 'Dress rehearsals'. Our starters played 3 quarters tonight.

Plus, we have just as little time to prepare for our next game that we had for this game. Henson will play about a half next week.

He said it, but he also said he wouldn't be able to do it next game either.

But since the starters did play into the 3rd quarter I'd say it was a dress rehearsal. I'm guessing they won't play that long on Thursday.

I doubt the 1st teams see much time next week Summer, remember we play thursday so it is another short week. I don;t think BP risks injury to important guys for the last meaningless game

On Monday before the half BP took a time out to get the ball back. Then he just had Henson go in and take a knee. Some of the radio talk show guys made alot of it saying it was a slap in the face to Henson and proves BP does not like Henson at all. When people in here put up these posts about that and BP not liking Henson I put in my replies of I thought it was really stupid to think that. After last night I now see they were right and I was wrong.
