It would be great if he could shore up the RDE position so we can focus on finding our franchise 3-tech.

He did look good out there. Maybe we'll have a decent rotation after all.

Played tough, love to see Marinelli "coach em' up".......Do I see Ratliff and Spencer all of a sudden feeling a lot better......

I bet you see him come back real soon. Selvie was terrific.

Played good. Makes me kind of not really want Spencer to be back longterm to be honest.

I'm not sure why but he has become one of the players on this team I'm really rooting for. Had a great preseason and just a good story, hope he keeps being around the ball and in the mix.

He wasnt active.

Loved Selvie, played much better than what i was expecting. Could say the same about Hayden.

So who were the active DEs? I didn't remember seeing anyone other than Ware and Selvie out there.

When Spencer comes back, I hope they run a lot of plays with Ware, Spencer and Selvie on the line at the same time.

You can't be serious

I am serious. If Spencer were willing to take on a better contract it would be a moot issue, but he wants to cash in and potentially handcuff us to a big contract when we need some flexibility if we're going to ink guys like Dez longterm.

We have to see how Spencer does at DE this year. We don't even know if he is suited for NFL 4-3 DE. Selvie might make Spencer expendable next year.

He would be perfectly cast a rotation guy, let him come in to rest Ware and Spencer to get after the QB with a fresh set of legs.

To be honest, I'd much rather invest money into a guy like Bruce Carter than Spencer. Lee, Carter and Carr will be the backbone of this defense, especially as Ware starts to get older.

Long #70 and Wilber #51 both played.

Selvie had an impressive game. I have no problem with him in the DL rotation going forward.

I am excited to get Spencer back so we can see Selvie back up Ware on the weak side. I think He has the potential to wreak havoc as a situational rusher and when spelling Ware.

As for Wilbur, he really bot pushed around out there. They seemed to run to his side every time he was in the game.

I don't remember seeing or hearing them call Rayford or Long's name at all.

Hayden really faded down the stretch and Cohen was spent early in the second half.

The lack of depth on the d-line was very obvious. Where as we were able to get consistent pressure in the first half with four rushers, we had a hard time generating a pass rush, even while blitzing in the second half. I really don't think Rat will bring much to the table other than depth but getting Spencer back will be huge for this defense.
