6 WR's with first round grades. Is TW the answer? If a stud WR is the BPA, do we take one? I would entertain the idea. Yes I know we need defense. But I wouldn't reach for a defensive player that doesn't have a first round grade.

Amari Cooper 6'1 210
Kevin White 6'3 210
Devante Parker 6'3 211
Dorial Green Beckham 6'6 225
Devin Funchess 6'5 235
Jaelen Strong 6'3 212

There will be some really good ones in the second round too. Sammie Coates and Duke Williams from auburn. As well as Rashad Greene from FSU. Very deep class. I would take one in the second round if one of these guys is there.

If we let Harris walk--and we probably do--I wouldn't be opposed to a mid-round speed WR. I wouldn't be looking at one in the first round unless I was absolutely stuck at my pick, though.

This.
I badly want to go defense in the 1st unless the value is just too great (like with Martin) or there are no great trade options.

I wouldnt waste a high pick on a WR, we just took Street last year....maybe in the later rounds

If all of your other players with first round grades are gone and you can't trade down, then I guess you would have to consider it. But as much as we run the football, and with Dez, Witten and other targets, I think that WR wouldn't catch many passes. I don't think Williams lacks talent, he lacks opportunity. A rookie WR would face the same issue.

Beckham is the guy with biggest risk and the biggest reward. Total mismatch for defenses and total knucklehead. A guy I really like in the middle rounds is Stefon Diggs from Maryland.

VERY good chance WR could be BPA when we pick and it might not even be close.

I think WR in the first is a strong possibility

I don't want to see a reach, but perhaps:

Eli Harold, DE, Virginia
Alvin Dupree, DE, Kentucky
Markus Golden, DE, Missouri
Arik Armstead, DE/DT, Oregon
Shawn Oakman, DE/DT, Baylor

would be of more use to the Cowboys next season?

I mean, if they're going to keep being competitive, I think they're going to need to get it down in the trenches. The fancy pieces is very Jerry, very Cowboys, but after nearly 2 decades of that approach not working, can we try less sexy, less cool, but far more effective players?

1st round WR? No way.

Too many talented WR's in college to make that pick.

Take a guy in the 4th and add him to Dez, TWill, Beasley, and Street.

Dallas is gonna go by there board, and honestly unless they get lucky DE may be a huge reach where we are and we could have a top 15 talent on the board at WR. I think once Orchards off the board, your looking at alot of mid 2nd round talent at DE. If it does play out like that I would much rather take a top 15 talent at WR in the first and take a DE in the 2nd

I hear you about not reaching, but when it comes to problem areas, D-Line>>>>>>>WR to me. Heck, defense>>>>>>>>>>offense in terms of needs all around. I'm not trying to totally dismiss your point, but this draft sucks if the best you can do by far in the late 1st is a WR.

Its obvious the defensive line is in greater need, but at the same a first round bust wont help much and very few guarentee wasting a first round pick then reaching for a defensive end.

I see Orchard right being the last of the first round DE, and I think he is a top 20 pick when all is said and done. After that are guys like Calhoun, Dupree and Golden who are mid second round talents. We draft those guys, we get 100 snaps out of them just like the Eagles did with Smith .

I think the Cowboys are going to have 2 choices for the most part. Be agressive in targeting a DE like Nate Orchard which may mean moving up a few spots or going by therr board, which has a very good chance of being a WR IMO
