I am currently engaged in an in-depth study of Ben Franklin--even trying to put myself in his shoes. I also binge watched the HBO series on John Adams.

It staggers the mind what the founders and the early American militia did for us...and all those whom has served since.

On multiple times recently a tear has come to my eye...in admiration, awe of them...and in embarrassment towards my own lack in regards to respect and contribution to my country.

Thank you, all whom have served! Huge thanks!

Will be calling my dad later today. Will be 92 in February. He served in WWII. Split time in Alaska and Okinawa.
That's awesome, Jazz2-2
I watched" the Memphis bell" last night, and it reminded me of a 90's something elderly gent I'd picked up in my cab once, state took his driver's license away, but he liked to go on long car rides late at night to help him think(his son was fixing to move him in with him over in Cali,,,and he was torn cuz he knew it would pretty much be all over for him then,,,I mean this old cat would have a $200 cab fare,,he flew B-24's out of Italy, said the b-24 had the flight characteristics of a brain damaged brick and never should have went into production, he said he was glad he flew out of Italy instead of England or he prolly wouldn't be here, said hitting flak clouds was like driving fast over a gravel road,,,I gave the dude my pH # and he'd call when I wasn't working and I'd haul him around for an hour or so in my pickup truck for free,a couple of times:lmao:

I am sad to see that this thread has not gotten more attention. To all who have served, I thank you. To all who have paid the price, I remember you. To all who have been left behind, I morn with you. To all who continue to serve, I wish you Godspeed.

President Reagon once said:

"We remember those who were called upon to give all a person can give, and we remember those who were prepared to make that sacrifice if it were demanded of them in the line of duty, though it never was. Most of all, we remember the devotion and gallantry with which all of them ennobled their nation as they became champions of a noble cause."

I hope that this is still true..........

Wow, he had to have his 'stuff' wired tight,he was probably was the smartest dude around that's not a job anybody could do:thumbup:

This guy I'd befriended said he was like in his early twenties and was the pilot, can't recall him ever saying anything good about having to fly it,as he said it was pretty much a constant fight to keep it straight,,, I think he said it constantly tried to tack or twist like fly sideways or somethingo_O
