I heard Roy is out, is this confirmed?

And what are we going to do about Flo? Looked like he got paid than quit.

And Henry and Ellis have to be considered as well b/c you know Jerry wants to create space for a Ray Lewis, or Suggs ect.

Henry has been trade bait allegedly and I suspect that will get to be a hotter topic. I wouldn't trade him depending on his cap numbers. He's depth at CB and can play a special package safety position. I think Roy will be quietly shopped but I don't see any takers although Baltimore, Pittsburg and the Vikings are some teams that could be interested. I don't see how we can get rid of him unless he wants to go and we feel better without him. I'm on the fence about the latter. That entire secondary would be on notice with me. Tackling drills up the ying yang and I'd have them play the ball more. More turnovers and better tackling. Ellis is cheap insurance. I think he stays as I'm not sold on Spencer yet. He could talk himself off the team and some team may be interested.

Henry is making 5 mil next season. I'm sorry but that is too much to just have him as "depth" and a few plays on nickel here and there. CB's are always there in the draft. Getting one in the 4th or 5th will have the same impact as what Henry brings, and ALOT cheaper. He is a horrible tackler and always gets beat.

Ellis cheap insurance? the guy is making 6.6 million next year. No thank you. Once again he is replaceable via draft.

we are talking roughly 10 million saved with those players gone..and we arnt losing much leadership or "depth" to me.

Where did you hear this? I would want him on the team only if he didnt make the 6.8 million he's due next season, cut that in half and I'd welcome him back.

I happen to think he'd do that.

are you being sarcastic? If not..then I still have a place for Roy on this team. you can't deny the sure tackling he brings to the defense.

I don't know what sure tackling you're seeing, but it can't be Roy. He's been nothing short of atrocious as a tackler the past two years. Most of the time I forgot he was even out...until I saw Keith Davis make a play against the run and went, "wait a minute, we have a strong safety?"

No, I'm with you, as long as he takes the paycut. But, I think he loves the organization so much that he'll do what it takes to stay.

CBs grow on trees?

That hasn't been the experience in Dallas ... it has been a very tough position for the Cowboys.

It is painful, but think back to -

-- the 2000 draft (Mario Edwards, Dwayne Goodrich, Karren Larrimore)

-- the need to spend big bucks to sign Henry as an FA

-- the various disasters that happened when 2nd teamers got playing time after starters were hurt (e.g., Jacques Reeves)

-- how the Cowboys have used 1st round picks on the position, because it IS tough to find good CBs

-- the willingness to take a flier on Adam Jones

-- the number of injuries to the CBs last season

etc.

Orlando Scandrick was an outstanding 5th round pick-up. No doubt about it. But you can't count on that happening every year (or even every five years).

All that was before we got new scouting as recently as 2 years ago. Jerry has listened to them and it shows with these last two strong draft classes. Henry is just that bad man..I'd rather have Jaque Reeves back out there..that's how terrible he is.

FLO WAS HURT WITH 3 INJURIES THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. AN ARM, SHOULDER AND LEG INJURY. HE DID NOT QUIT BUT PLAYED 16 GAMES DESPITE THEM.

ellis wont take a pay cut, thats why a few years back he held out of camp and start of season remember, greg ellis is gone for sure

next, as you know brad johnson is still on team, but i imagine he is gone

yes, i would like for the cowboys to trade CB Henry, they tried to get him to play safety, were you satisfied with his griping & complaining, besides Henry is slowing down and injury prone every other year, yes trade him to Miami

next, as you might recall the Dolphins especially Parcells still wants bobby carpenter, so he might be traded too, Hostile I believe touched on that draft trade theory, of carpenter for QB Beck, with us getting a pick back in return

I also think we might be able to trade McQuistan to the Dolphins too, since McQuistan was parcells low round draft picks as an offensive linemen and parcell liked mcquistan

Proctor is probably gone too, if Mcquistan is gone, proctor might stay as backup

Then, if we keep T O, you might see Patrick Crayton traded, he brings value

Now, if we loose greg ellis which i think we will, roy williams safety, bobby carpenter and zach thomas, then you need to go get a linebacker in free agency or draft one to 2 more linebackers in the draft.

I do think the cowboys will draft a safety too.

Just my thoughts; joe

Forget Lewis or Suggs, we won't be going after either. Maybe Bart Scott but that is even doubtful. Probably look at SS in FA like Sean Jones or Greg Sensabaugh.

Those thinking we will go for Lewis, Suggs, Haynesworth or other high price vets are basically hoping and dreaming.

I think Canty is gone, Zach Thomas is gone, Henry will be gone, RW 38 will be gone and Burnett will be gone. I think they might try and trade Ellis, who will have some trade value..On offense, TO will be gone and some of the backup OL's will be replaced. Brad Johnson will also be gone, and good chance Bollinger is too.

We'll probably need new starters at one DE spot, one ILB spot and FS.
