NEW YORK - ESPN reported late Friday that sources close to Roger Goodell are saying that the NFL Commissioner is likely going to reinstate Michael Vick next week - then suspend him for at least the first four games of the season, possibly as many as six.

However, that doesn't mean Vick is going to be able to return right away to the NFL. First he has to find a taker, and when news broke Friday that Vick likely will get a shot as soon as this season to resume his once-promising NFL career, at least one franchise - the Dallas Cowboys, who are notorious for taking on problem players - was already passing.

Owner Jerry Jones says Dallas has no plans to sign the suspended quarterback. Jones has repeatedly said since Vick was released by the Atlanta Falcons last year that his team won't sign him.

Responding to a question Friday about Vick, Jones said his stance hasn't changed.

"It hasn't," Jones said, emphasizing that by repeating that phrase twice more in a matter of seconds.

Even if there wasn't the whole fact that he is a felon scumbag POS and even if he was a saint, why the hell would the Cowboys be interested in him? Where would be play? Romo is a FAR BETTER QB. Kitna is the kind of backup we need, in that the offense would not change with him in there. So Vick as 3rd QB? No way. Vick as RB? Our 3 RBs are better than Vick would be.

So there quite simply is no need for him here.

That being said, I hope that isn't the reason for Jones' answer. I hope that Jerry said no because Vick is a scumbag POS.

I agree, he did a horriable thing, but he did his time, now he deserves a second chance and a right to earn a living.

I dont think the 4 or 6 games makes sense. Its almost like Goodell feels obligated to suspend him for a few.

Either suspend him for a whole year or not at all.

Make a stand with Vick and frankly with that idiot that killed the guy while driving drunk. He ought to be suspended for life as well. If you kill someone then you should be banned for life. If you torture animals for years you should be banned for life. If you are convicted of Rape you should be banned for life. So what if some so called good or even great players are tossed.
