Just watched this on DVR....

Ray is certainly an inspiring individual. I loved the interaction between him and his kids. That was more encouraging than anything they showed on the field.

Cowboys had a shot a few years ago when Ray-Ray was a FA. He actually spoke about the possiblity of joining the Cowboys but Jerry decided to go in a different direction (Zach Thomas, then later Keith Brooking).

Many on the Zone lauded Jerry's decision claiming that Lewis was done. The guy is a leader non pareil and is still playing at a pro bowl level to this day.

I remember when Ray caught that double murder charge. I hated the Ravens back then and didn't know much about Ray Lewis. I assumed he was guilty, and kept that assumption years after he was acquitted. Seems silly, but I feel like I've gotten to know him over the years.

I'd bet a year salary that he really is as genuine of a human being as he seems to be, and I believe he was totally setup on those charges.

That is going a bit overboard of being the greatest possible leader of all-time, especially in all of the sports.

My top 3: Butkus, Singletary, Lambert then a duel for #4 between Lewis and Nitschke.

It is true. I was on here getting blasted for wanting the washed up LB. Just a guess, but IMO we would have won at least 1 SB since had he come here.

Not only because of his LBing play, but mostly for his leadership. Remember this was the time when we had none. Oh wait isn't that still the case now?

I never thought Ray was guilty of double murder (stupid charge to bring), but he was guilty of not adding the prosecution's case in his two "posse members" who killed those two dudes - who were bad apples too, from what I understand.
