Some kids aren't the biggest or fastest player on the field.

But you put the uniform on them and they make plays again and again.

And yes, he has the numbers in the return game that I must have if you want to be on my draft board, read here.

Right now I see some sites have him listing anywhere between the 3rd and 6th round.

Slot WR and kick return specialist for the next 4-8 years in the NFL.

But he won't be drafted by the Cowboys because he doesn't fit the prototypical size of a WR for us.

I am hoping that prototypical size BS is taking a beating as the Cowboys discuss this draft because of what they saw from Roy over the last two seasons.

I think this offense could use a small quick guy for some screens.

And these big long striders who have trouble in separating in space are never that good in the return game. Let's get a waterbug in here for that job. Someone to get the heart racing. A Leon Washington type.

I don't disagree with you; I was just saying as to what history has shown with the WR position. I'm not sure if we have a WR under 6'1. Dallas loves those big, physical WR's.

I know. And I hoping they stop thinking like this 100% of the time.

Goes back to Wade not giving a crap about Special Teams until he was forced to do so by Jerry last season.

Maybe DeCamilles has some say on this one.

I trust Coach Joe's input, which I'm hoping he has in the war room. Crayton is reliable, and has the ability to break a couple like last year, but you have to credit most of his success to Joe D. Dexter McCluster anyone?

There's also the corner, Akwasi Owusu-Ansah, who is a beast on special teams with kick AND punt returns. And his name is pretty dang cool.

Patrick Crayton and Kevin Ogletree are both 6-0.

We also drafted 5-11 Manny Johnson last year and kept him on the practice squad all season.

While Manny Johnson is only 5'11, he's close to 200 pounds. Crayton is over 200 pounds and Ogletree is 192. Antonio Brown is 5"10, and 180 pounds according to nfldraftcountdown. I'm guessing the Cowboys have limits on certain positions when it comes to measurables.

I doubt Manny Johnson was more than 185 as a senior at Oklahoma.

But I agree that the Cowboys want to be sure the wideout has the frame to carry added muscle.

The 5th or 6th WR has to look like the #1 or #2 WR.

So he won't use that spot for a guy like Brown who's primary job will be returner.

I guess what I meant was the connection between big WRs and Wade not giving a crap about special teams. The Cowboys "big WR" thing hardly started with him... It goes back to Parcells, or even longer with some desire to replicate Irvin and Harper.

Wade seems a lot more likely to draft a playmaker regardless of size than some coaches. Before we played the Chargers this year, he was talking about how he lobbied for the Chargers to draft Sproles -- though as the DC he probably didn't have a lot of say. ;)

Either way, I'm with you guys in wanting a small, quick speedster. But I've been saying that for years now.

I think they are looking at the kid as return specialest with the possiblity to move to WR

Antonio Brown, Central Michigan
Height: 5-10. Weight: 179.
Projected 40 Time: 4.5.
Projected Round (2010): 5-6.
1/8/10: Antonio Brown has declared for the 2010 NFL Draft. Brown is only 21, so I don't understand what the rush is here. Teams will look at him as a return specialist only.

8/7/09: Antonio Brown's stats (93 receptions, 998 yards, 7 TDs in 2008) are inflated because of the offense he plays in, but he'll be drafted relatively high because he's one of the nation's top punt-returners.

Kevin Ogletree is already playing here.

That's your 4.3 guy.

Exactly. I've always been a fan of the smaller quicker types of WR
