Thought it was great that the NFL Network did the right thing and allowed Michael to be up there right next to Emmitt to enjoy this moment.

You da best Emmitt!

Oh my goodness. I didn't get to see this before because of family needs. Emmitt had me in tears when he was talking about his Dad.

Several times I had tears in my eyes. I was very grateful NFLN let Emmitt speak without interupting him for a commercial break. His acceptance speech should be really good.

He always was sneaky like that. I sure wish Haley had got in.

How any Cowboy fan can trash this guy is beyond me.
He might not be the most eloquent speaker (although he did wonderful in this interview) he is a Cowboy as true as any.

Me too.

They mentioned before they had each of the guys come up to the stage with them that this was a new format for the HOF announcement.

I liked it much better than just having them come up and talk about whatever came into their heads. In the state of mind they are in, it has to be much easier to be asked the questions and just answer.

Yes, this was much much better. The old way was like a post game presser.

Darn, Emmitt, I had not seen you this tearful since you were talking about being a soccer dad. Whoda thunk you could be this emotional, again, about football?
Just please, no one say he was eloquent, because ever time someone is called eloquent, you can be sure he or she really is not.
Ya big blubbering lug, Emmitt.

Emmitt Smith is one of the toughest dudes who ever lived. Yet he always seems to be one of the most emotionally attached people I've ever seen - and always candid about it, too. The guy has a heart full of love, and it just spills out all over the place. It's one of the things I most admire about him. He's a tough guy - but he doesn't seem to feel the need to play the tough guy.

I bet the people who live around him just love the **** out of him. I know I do.

I hope the haters will now just go away. The "diamonds surrounded by trash" and "should have just retired instead of joining Arizona" barbs need to die now.

Emmitt epitomized the 90's Cowboys, he loved being a Cowboy, and he will always be remembered as one. He is just as deserving of the moniker "Mr. Cowboy" in my mind.

I don't have time to watch them right now, but do either of those videos include Emmitt's comment about playing for the star? I watched it live yesterday and wanted to save that quote.

Yes. It's the whole thing from when he was brought up on stage until Russ Grimm's call was coming in.

I was so happy to hear him admit that when he got to Arizona he knew it wasn't the same as playing for the Cowboys and that his heart and desire to be such a great player was derived from wearing the star.

He's still my All-Time Favorite Cowboy and I couldn't be more pleased to see a Cowboys player go in.

I'll never understand how anyone hates this guy. Yeah I dont always agree with his stuff about the Cowboys but you can't tell me this guy doesn't love the Cowboys, even now.

At the playoff game against the Eagles some of the most special moments was when they'd show him on the screen, smiling, celebrating, getting the crowds cheers.

I love that guy. Absolutely always going to be my favorite Cowboys player ever.
