The Star Wars Battlefront II character being used is a called an ARC (Advanced Recon Commando) Trooper. It is a Reinforcement, which is a classification above regular troopers and below Heroes/Villains. The character comes standard with built-in advantages over regular troopers such as:
  • dual blaster pistols (double firepower)
  • a base health of 350 (150 points over the toughest trooper [Heavy])
  • extensive helmet radar setup (ID's enemies for the player and teammates)
  • 'shock traps' (zaps enemies off their feet and momentarily stuns them)
  • a one-shot Power Blast alternative setting, which can take out enemies from across an ENTIRE map (if line of sight is not blocked) AND severely damage heavy vehicles in quick fashion

These suckers are difficult to defeat fighting them at ground level.

So, what does a cheater do?

Answer: exploit a hack allowing you to stand in mid-air HIGH above the map where starships fly

When the first age of empires came out, it was one of my favorite pvp strategy games. It was a speed based army/civilization building war strategy game, and you would have these massive battles. After awhile hacks starting happening. I would have these 30min - 1 hour or more battles, where i conquered the other team or teams, and when i was searching for the last enemy to kill, a hacked indestructible car with a gun would show up and kill everything, and I would lose points for the game.

That hack ruined a really good game

Have around 500 hours playing PUBG and me and squad mates came across more than our fair share of cheaters/hackers. The vast percentage of them seemed to be from China. The developers could do so much more to prevent it but allow it being that Chinese players make up a good % of players. Seen it all from people shooting through walls, as well as a radar hack that allows them to know your location.

If it's cheating against computer opponents and in SP games, who cares? If it's cheating against other players I'm very much against it.
At one time, I played a handful of game titles every year. There was one time I played Madden when my online opponent completely changed his entire NFL team to players looking like some nightmarish version of Rowdy's. It took me about a minute of shaking my head while continuing to play before I ended the session.

Some players have nothing but gall. I am certain SWB2 is far from being the only hacked game but there is so much crap DICE allows that is almost criminal. Case in point: one game mode is called Heroes vs. Villains. A max of four Star Wars heroes pitted against four Star Wars villains. First team to defeat 35 of the other team's players wins.

There have been times when I have played on the Light Side and faced off against TWO General Grievous and TWO Boba Fetts at once. Or times when THREE Anakin Skywalkers were seemingly coming out of the walls.

Non-players may think Leia Organa is a lame character but she can be one of the most fierce competitors if used by an excellent player. However, both her blaster (except her alternative fire) and rifle must accumulate hits to defeat an opponent. I have seen players land EVERY shot on ALL their opponent throughout an ENTIRE match without a SINGLE miss. Not an exaggeration and it is not skill. That is a hack.

Makes you want to find people and strangle them like Homer does Bart.:mad:

Here is a side note to the OP's animated gif. The game mode was Supremacy and the battle took place in the capital city Theed on Naboo. Star Wars nerds like me will remember the location from Episode I: The Phantom Menace. :p

Anyhoo, I was fighting on the Separatist droids' side against the Galactic Republic clones. One side must capture and defend up to five strategically situated Control Points for collecting 100 points before the other side can.

My side was leading 64-19 before Mr. or Mrs. Cheater-In-The-Sky graced us with his or her presence in the heavens. My side were so busy shooting UP at him or her that we could not fend off enough attackers flanking us.

We ended up losing the ground engagement. Whichever side, wins on the ground, has an opportunity to fly up to their opponent's ship, blow it up from within, and win the session. For me, it is more satisfying playing with 19 other strangers efficiently skilled and organized better than the 20 other folks below the ships than fighting them inside the ships. I have played some matches that have lasted over two hours BECAUSE both sides were evenly matched without cheating mixed in.

I hate (literal meaning) losing and will not quit even when my teammates or I am getting our butts handed to us. However, that crap seen in post #1 was just too much for me. One person turned the tide in a session that was practically a done deal. The whole thing had the stink of deflated footballs or something.:laugh:

The type of exploit or cheating shown in the OP above is an equivalent to trolling.

Gaming is another medium of entertainment for myself now and cheating ruins it.

Decades ago I use to game competitively in leagues, before it was a profession.

The leagues had lists of banned players for using aimbot hacks and wall hacks.

Throughout the years of playing in these leagues I was investigated for cheating.

The league admins had to spectate my games because of aimbot hacks claims.

Here's myself shredding a guy that tried to concussion grenade jump over me...

I never cheated and never got banned, but this kill was in the Plays of the Week.

I agree. In Supremacy, there is a personal satisfaction to clearing a Control Point of enemies and take possession of it through mutual uncoordinated strategy and skill, That particular person got zero respect from me practically clearing a control point by his or herself from a technically impossible advantage point.
