Two things.......

Who's BDP? Did you mean Big Daddy Kane?
You forgot to mention the most influential rappers of all time.....Run DMC

I like you're list though, overall. I would add in honorable mentions for Wu Tang and Eminem.

Yes I left off quite a few names I should have remembered.

BDP is short for Boogie Down Productions with KRS1

I can't put into words how bad I hate that song.

All his songs are just noise. There's one where they just keep saying "All the way turned up" or something, over and over, in this really obnoxious tone.

It's painful to listen to.

Wow. I just realized I sound like my parents when I used to play GnR as a kid. :(

Some music stands the test of time...You liked it back then and you can play it now and it still stands well. Then of course you got some you listen to now and wonder what the heck you were thinking back then. :laugh2:

Not true. Tu Pac, Snoop, Eminem, Beastie Boys, Jay Z, DMX to name a few from the 90's early 2000's that did it great. There are more.

Don't forget Soulja Boy.

Beastie Boys were originally from the 80s. (Licensed to Ill - 1986)

As I said. The best rap was from the 80s.

Is it me or does this dude look broke as hell :laugh2: ?

Was he calling himself "50 Tyson"? Thats what it sounded like and I guess it's because he looks like a mix of 50 Cent and Mike Tyson?

Thats a double fail. Triple if you consider how stupid he sounds / is.

This kid couldnt play a rapper on Halloween! My ****** dog could compose a better freestyle!

As for hip-hop as a genre, I long for the 80's & 90's when it actually took some talent to make a record. To add to BP's list; what about Biz Markie, Eric B & Rakim, EPMD, Ice Cube, Redman, Scarface, Biggie, Nas, Busta Rhymes, A Tribe Called Quest, Outkast, Common, The Roots....man, hip-hop was great back then! There are some newer artists that I listen to like Ludacris, Kanye, & Jadakiss but needless to say my ipod is full with songs from hip-hop's Golden Age!

Yes I am serious.

Those artists were game changers. They were genre changers.
LLCoolJ also has something that a great deal of modern rappers do not have...longevity in a field that normally does not and also he was a heck of a rapper, skill wise, in his day.

I imagine if he wanted he could probably put out a CD that would do well in the charts even today.

:laugh2: :laugh2:

... You think there is any sort of legitimacy in people saying this guy can rap...?

Still not sure if serious. :laugh2:

I believe the thread is a joke, they aren't actually saying the guy is any good at all.

I think you've earned the full on:

 Queensbridge, early-mid 90s.

BTW y'all, 50Tyson hit me up on email and said his CD is coming out the 25th of this month at Goodwill.
