Everyone bags on this team about leaders. Well here is one of them. You can tell he is as frustrated as is humanly possible and you can tell he doesnt care To be doing this.

But he does it and he has the right answers and that is what a leader does.

I love jay ratliff, have listened to him many times on smoakys show that was on ktbb.com

to me, if the players on defense like newman, ken hamlin, spencer, played as hard as ratliff does, give it your all, work hard in the offseason, then this team would be unbeatable.

Interesting thing to see what one of the things ratliff said, the defenders are eager to learn, in regards to why the defenders didnt excel in pass coverage.

ok, if the cowboys defenders are eager to learn, then to me that puts it back onto the coaches on defense getting them ready.

but it sure does hurt when your head coach didnt run these schemes in minicamp, OTAs and training camp, because wade said i didnt want to get players hurt, because when you blitz you tend to get players hurt.

that to me is just an excuse for really not doing your job;
look at the jets, they ran multiple blitzes in traiing camp and they have their players ready

i think i might have a handle on this now about our defense;
first scheme wise, wasnt ran enough from the defensive coordinator (in other words, we had to correct the run defense after tampa bay game, now we have to fix pass defense after giant game which goes back to something wade said last year, we got outcoached)
2nd enough players havent had their belly full of thats it, thats enough, No more bad games, gets upset at players and coaches for not doing their jobs on defense, makes them accountable, in whatever way they have to

fix those 2 things and i think our defense will vastly improve,
wade must show a nasty dispostion when players dont run his defense right, but at same time, wade must work them till they get it down on schemes
while the players with a couple like bradie james and ratliff start making players accountable on defense

Rat made a great play on that last drive.

The man ran from the NT spot to the flat to tackle Bradshaw.

Leaders perform in the clutch when the game is on the line.

It's gonna be funny to see Jerry tear up Rat's contract like he wouldn't do for Ellis.

in that year's draft there were a handful of analyses that praised us for taking guys who were leaders on their college teams (ironically, Barber was singled out for not being one -- and he clearly is for us). Rat is a keeper and I expect he's getting a great extension next year.

Gentlemen...My new favorite player.

Been having a hard time picking out someone I admire on this team lately, but I think I have found him.

One thing that strikes me is that JAY is NOT THAT BIG for a NT in 3/4. Look at him next to Laugfenberg. He's no bigger than Babe. I think he's actually smaller than Spears and Ian...wow...

I love Jay but he's got to wear down as the season progresses unless we cut down number of plays he needs to play and get another player ie. Junior to take several series per game.

Jay is very important but we NEED to find a way to preserve him for a long season.

Well in fairness, seeing him in person, I'd say Babe has to be 6-4 or so.

But I'm with you on cutting his snaps back some. So far Junior is doing a good job on run downs and maybe they'll gradually increase his role.

Yeah I saw the game. But I keep seeing the Ray Lewis play in my head and think damn must be nice to have some one make a play late in the game.

He may be about the same height but it ends there. He is built very solidly. I was standing around talking to Jay and Cricket after an autograph session Saturday. My daughter suggested getting a picture and I said " Let's get one of Deon running right through Jay." Deon growled and showed his teeth but Jay just shook his head and put one big paw right in Deon's chest as if to say "You're not going anywhere little man"! Deon is a very friendly, funny guy. I asked him if Tashard is as crazy as he seems to be and Deon said Tashard was on a whole nother level.

that Ray Lewis play was awesome. he's the greatest linebacker I've ever seen play in my young age.

Damnit, that makes it even more sad.

We stopped them on 1st and 20, and forced them into a 2nd and 20 or 2nd and 18ish.

Then proceed to allow them to pick up the needed yards like it's nothing.
