Keith Brooking is ‘Doing Work’!

This guy has quickly become one of my favorite players to watch...

Brooking just brings an energy to this defense. I am ready to see him replace Bradie James on the Nickel defense because he's a faster player.

I can't see him being just a two down player all season and there have been a few instances where he's been in on the Nickel already. We'll have to see where Wade goes on that one.

He replaced Carp on the nickel vs. KC I believe. The nickel usually has 2 LBs, did you want Brooking to play alongside Carp (if you are advocating Brooking replacing Bradie James)? I like Brooking in the nickel too, but I would rather have James over Carp.

Best case scenario, Jason Williams replaces Bradie James in the nickel and plays alongside Brooking. That would give you two fast, hard hitting, catalytic LBs who can cover and attack the LOS.

Intense player. He brings what is needed more then talent to be successful in any kind of sport (except maybe chess but that's no sport anyway ;))

I love him. I still hope he will ingnite some spark in the others players. Who too often seem to think talent is enough to win the big one.

I would take Brooking and Williams as the Nickel LB's.

Bradie just can't move as well as Carp. But he's a better tackler for sure.

I love Bradie on 1st and 2nd down. He just has heavy feet and he's not at his best when moving laterally or backwards so I would take Carp over him right now on the Nickel.

Thats a LB and leader. Brooking and Ratliff are by far playing at the highest level on defense. Ware looks to be pcking it up soon too and the bye week should help in that regard.

Brooking is just an intense bully in that clip. This guy wants to win a championship and loves playing for this organization. We couldn't ask for more from a pick up like this.

What a great video. This is what a LB is supposed to look like. I was so wrong on this signing. I didn't think he had enough left in the tank. I've always liked him, but I thought he was too old to bring his old fire.

Is J. Williams good at covering? I know he is fast and all but what about the technique. I thought he was more of a disruptive pass rushing ILB more than a cover LB.

You and me both. But I am more than glad to eat crow on this. Brooking looks rejuvenated and more fiery than he did even 2 seasons ago w/Atlanta.

Everytime I see 51 make a play, I expect to see him start boxing the goalposts afterward. :D

This is the intensity that this team has needed for a long time. Hopefully he will rub off on a few players.:)

Does Wade get any credit on this one?

*Checks notepad, reads only "Being fat" under "Things Wade Deserves Credit For"*

Nope.

Wouldn't be the first time buddy. Brooking>>Bradie by miles. And that's pretty sad.

I disagree. Not about Brooking being better but about it being sad. I like what both offer for this team. Its not a discredit to Bradie IMO. I saw Brooking play some last year which was very minimal but he looked like he was on his way out. He did not play with this hunger last year. He's back to a Pro Bowl level and he'll be there if he keeps this up.

And as far as not giving Wade credit I don't' see why not. The guy looks rejuvenated. He played some of his best football under Wade and he's continuing to do so as of right now. I didn't like the Brooking signing at all but he's playing like a headhunter.

This defense has the personnel to turn this season around for the Cowboys. Its going to be a matter of them all clicking. Ratliff is playing the best football of his career. Brooking is playing some of his best football. Spears and Olshankzy are playing solid. Newman is playing solid. All we need is for Ware to come back to atleast an 8th of what he was last season. We need Spencer to get better on the pass rush. Jenkins and Scandrick are young and they're getting more solid by the game. Safety is my biggest concern. I like what Sensabaugh has brought to this team but if he's not healthy this team isn't hitting its potential. I don't like Watkins back there at all and I prefer Ball at the corner spot but he too has even been solid when he's filled in.

Why must we poopoo on one player in order to give credit to another? I just love our fans, lol.

I hate that and its a common trend you find between Cowboys fans. Its okay. Its like there's 1 compliment per player position lol.

Brooking is the most overrated player on the defense. Second on the team to Tony Romo. He cant shed blocks, and is not great in coverage.

He yells alot, yeah he is so awesome.
